I am sad to report Carmine did pass away last night shortly after my last post. Before burying him I did do a necropsy with my limited skills and some direction from the vet. I took some photos but they did not turn out so good. His heart and liver looked fine his lungs showed some congestion that could of been due aspirating some of his liquid meals in the last few days or he had pneumonia from his last days. What struck me was that all of the organs past his stomach were dark black except for the fat pads. It has difficult to tell what was what because it was the same color. Even the interior skin of the abdominal wall was dark. Maybe this is normal in chameleons after death but did not look like photos I had seen. If you can provide some insight and want to see some of my photos even though the quality is not that great let me know in a PM and I will send them to you.
On a personal note when Carmine was feeling good he had quite the little personality and I spent countless hours reasearching and watching him trying to improve is quality of life. He will be missed. Thanks for your help every one.
