Jimbo'z Diary - Ambanja Panther Cham

zup Bano :D

Yea this is the only Chameleon forum thats hot!

Got some good info here when i started doing research.

One thing i like about Johannesburg is the climate, gives us a opportunity not to turn our Chameleons into robots.

Are you from SA?

What Chamo'z do you have :)

The weather here can also be unforgiving with certain species...
A lot of the trioceros species are dieing from added heat stress when they arrive in Johannesburg. Jacksons seem to be doing fine though.

The weather in KZN seemed good for my chams, the sudden change of humidity (higher) struck all the females into receptivity, was quite interesting

Have another picture but cannot post it here ;)

I believe the compact bulbs on rounded domes cause
the most problem because it concentrates the UVB to
a specific area

if you are using an fixture like the exo-terra canopy
or zoo med canopy I figure those would be ok

@chamsssss wow what stunners. Is she eeg bound?

Some updated pic for you guys :D Moving him into his reptibreeze end of next week.

Hey, no she is not eggbound. She is expected to lay in the next week or 2.
Then my smaller female will be bred probably sometime next month or the month later.

Hoooraaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

Thats is awesome news, you must let me know if you need anything. To make sure those eggs are taken good care of :D

It is not an ambilobe ;)

It might not even be an ambanja. It is most likely ambanja x nosybe or ambilobe x nosy be...dont know if we will ever find out...

Sage, she started digging yesterday and finished up a couple hours ago, the eggs look perfect, now to wait a couple months and see what hapens :)

hmmm interesting......... Funny how all the baby panther look the same when they are a few weeks old.

We will have to wait and see.

OK so i picked up the 40x40x50 cm Reptibreeze from Reptile Gallary this weekend got it all setup and moved Jimbo into it.

I have a Repti Glo 5.0 14 watt Tube over the top and 50 watt Neodymium sun glo on a clamp lamp. A 14 watt Tube looks to weak if you ask me. a 14 watt compact at a nice distance will be better i Feel.

I also have a Schefflera Arboricola tree in the center and some vine its looking really good and he has taken to it like a charm. Glad he is out of the tub.

I monitored his drinking this morning and he is taking water off the leaves, since i had him he drinks as soon as his mobile and wakes up.

Will update with Pics soon.
