Just got Jose's worm medicine

Just got his worm medicine and I have to give him 0.07 cc's a day dropping into his mouth. The medicine is Abx. Albom 10cc Oral. Now how do I go about dropping this in his mouth? I really have no idea...

Its kinda hard, but if u can get him to open his mouth then normally just drop the medicine in and he will swallow.

I have forcefed/water chams in the past by gently pressing at the corner of the mouth with the dropper/or safe tool(credit cardworks well) and put ur finger on the other side of his head to brace so when u push u can kinda wiggle the dropper between his lips then to his jaw. Dont force it! the last thing you wanna do is damage/injure his mouth..

U may even annoy him enough that he gapes in which case his mouth is wide open!

What the vet did was hold him upside down and that ticked him off enough to where he hissed and held his mouth open so she should examine inside his mouth, I'll try that. Is there anything I should be worried about like dropping it in the wrong place so he will swallow it down the wrong pipe? I've heard of that happening before.

i never really experienced any choking or swallowing wrong, just dont drown him in medicine and it shouldnt be to hard.

When I used the dropper, after i got his mouth open, drop in the medicine and he just started to swallow like normal, as if he was drinking basically

when i had to syringe oral medicine, since my girl is comfortable with me, i fed her a super worm, and while she was chewing i just dropped it onto her lip and she swallowed it

Yeah that's what he has. I can't really order anything online right now and I already have the medicine. Will the albon get him better or no?

Sometimes chameleons stop eating when on albon. It should work to control the coccidia but monitor his behavior and stop and call your vet if he stops eating or acting sluggish

How many days does he have to be on it?

I have always used Ponzi to treat coccida and haven't used Albon..

You can't order the meds online the vet will have to get it for you. Did you read the link above. When my Luie had cociddia (before ponazuril) my vet gave him Albon. After the 3rd day he stopped eating. I stopped the Albon and got Alperax which is no longer used but it had no side affects. Luie was very healthy. My vet said one of the healthy chams he'd ever seen but then his fecal came bad positive for coccidia. If your Cham is weak and already sickly I would not use Albon. Print out the thread above and take it to your vet and have him order the ponazuril. Why chance it making your guy sick when there's a good safe drug now to treat him with.

Sorry I was at dinner and on my phone when I replyed. They said Jose was the healthiest they have seen but had worms also! He doesn't have anything wrong with him, perfect weight and everything. I'm guessing he just got the parasite?

They get parasites from the feeders they eat. Did your vet tell you about the clean up? They can also re-infect after checking clean.

Well I just talked to my parents about getting different medicine and they won't do it because they said that I'm being stupid for listening to someone on the internet over listening to a vet so I will just have to give this to him and see what happens...

that my friend... is a bad decision on your parent's part.

Use the albon but keep a watch on his behaviour. If he stops eating or starts acting lethargic call you vet right away .

Also it is important to clean like jann said. You might find it easier to strip his cage down to the bare minimum . No live plant just a few easy to clean sticks. This will help you clean the infected poop more easily and reduce the risk of reinfecting him. You may want to cup feed too if he will so the crickets can't walk in and poop if you are not there to clean it right away.
