My daughter got her juvenile? crested gecko a couple of weeks before I got my chameleon, so mid July. We've never had a crested or even seen one in real life before purchase, and were surprised at how tiny he was. We wondered if we did indeed get a juvenile and not a baby. She purchased a lovely glass and screen habitat, has some tree like branches in there and leaves for hiding, and a mossy/dirt like substrate for humidity and bioactivity. He/she has a double feeding station magnetically held up mid to upper cage level with his water and babyfood- like crested food. We never see him eat or drink. My daughter has been sort of force feeding him off a toothpick holding food against his face until he opens his mouth a little, but having watched it seems a VERY tiny amount of intake. I rather keep expecting to find a dead gecko in there one day (my daughter is 13, probably not as diligent about care as I might be, but I'm busy with a chameleon, and that means quite busy!) But the tiny little guy still lives, looks healthy to my unknowledgeable eyes, but does not look a bit bigger than when we got him. I don't know what to think? A pet store person told us that he's probably eating at night, so I'm hoping that's true, but shouldn't he grow more?

Post pics. Cresteds do eat at night, but you should be able to see him drink. I'm confused, so are you giving him baby food or crested gecko diet. Baby food is not good for them.

1st shot July 20, other 3 are today

Sorry for the confusion, was describing the stuff he eats. It's crested deck diet looks like babyfood. Came with him from breeder

I can only assume he is drinking since he still lives, but no one has seen him drink or eat. He is hand misted and gets a water bowl next to his gecko diet. And the gecko diet has moisture of course. Are they particularly slow growers? My chameleon has grown so fast, but then he's a voracious eater.

Ok just making sure because so many people think it's okay to give them baby food. My little guy passed away after having him for 5 months. He had a really bad shed and when I looked back in his enclosure he had passed away. He drank water, but I never saw him eat, but I know he did. He also didn't grow. My sister bought him from petco so I'm sure that's the reason. Your little guy is most likely fine, but it's weird that you don't see him drink.

So maybe I am right to be concerned. Sorry about your little guy :(

Cresteds can grow fast or slow depending on environmental factors. If you want it to grow faster start feeding crickets along side the meal replacement powders.

I have 2 crested. I was told to use this they like and it's last a long time.its in powder form.i also mist their cage too . Is it a male?

I breed geckos but I also am one of those few people in the crested gecko world who doesn't beleive in relying on premade diets. He needs dusted insects at least twice a week if you want him to grow at a decent rate with that type of Pangea. At his age two heavy mists a day are needed. He is not a juvenile he is likely around 3 months old and was fed improperly for a growing gecko. They grow very very slowly if not fed properly because people get them as a first reptile but just accept info that is spoon fed to them.

You will likely not know a guess of his sex until he is around 4-5 months, you need to look for pores around then. Once sexually mature the hemipenal bulge with these guys is obvious lmao

I can't believe any one would not give crickets as part of a diet, and solely rely on a man made product. I give my two, Pangea every day and and throw crickets in every other night. I gutload my crickets with Repashy bug burger too.

I don't feed crickets, but I feed like 5-6 different other feeders that are gecko friendly XD lmao. But I also don't give a lot of premade... I think my overall blend have 2 tablespoons of pangea in it just because it does not have enough variety yet for my comfort. Not that pangea itself has much variety lol
