Kale - I can't believe it!

OK, so I bought a bag of chopped kale at the grocery today thinking I would feed it to the cricks as gutload along with some apple and sweet potato. As an experiment I stuck a little in all the cages in between some branches where it wouldn't easily fall out.

GLORY BE! All 4 of my Chams have been munching on it. I can't believe it. Even Arnie who is picky picky picky. WOW! I gotta try some strawberries next. maybe I can eventually get them to eat fruits and veggies out of my hand. Boy, do I love being a chami mom.

That's great! I hand feed Kale to my Chams and its hit or miss. They never take it on their own.

One caution about fruits - at least with my experience - they love it but they get diarrhea.

It could be because so far I only have fake plants in their cages. I tucked the kale in between some branches. One of my little ladies actually grabbed some and ran away with a mouthful to her "place" to nibble at her leisure. It was a real kick.

Both my female veileds eat shreded carrots, there moist with water so it also helps them keep hydrated.
