I come from the uk and have never used nightime hating with my chameleons. If you have to a ceramic heat emitter should be used as a heatmat will do virtually nothing for upping temperatures unless the chameleon physically sits directly on top of it.
Aslong as nightime heating stays above 60f it should be ok. In a house it should generally stay above this.
With regards to housing it is much easier and less hassle keeping them separate. I know the Uk market is quite overrun with yemen babies so any you hatch may be hard to sell. You will get shops who may say theyw ill buy them but again this comes down to availability at the time and who they can get them cheaply from. At the moment suppliers sell yemens to shops at about £10-£12. There is no money to be made from them as the babies sure do eat a lot!
