Keeping Baby dubias in bin

My dubia Colony of 97 females 15 males has just exploded with babies and first thing i noticed is THEY CAN CLIMB. I put packaging tape around the bin which does work but for some reason at night when they're active they will get under the tape and get stuck. If you try to peal them off carefully they will just rip apart because they're so soft what should i do? i dont want to lose a bunch of them. Also i want to get the bin sealed up better so they cant get out ( my first job was kind of crappy) can i do this or no everyone says not to disturb them would that be a big deal? once i get it sealed up better ill remove any remaining tape so i dont have to worry anymore.

Once I heard for crickets that you can just smear a line of olive oil around the side. Also, I didn't think dubias could climb?

Put vaseline around the top like you did with the tape. Remove the tape!

I keep mine in a round tin (one of the couple gallon ones you receive popcorn in for Christmas [so it's got nice, festive snowflakes on the outside]), and none of them have been able to climb that; the concave metal walls seem beyond their ability.

Here's an idea i've tried, I went to target and got plastic storage bins that you can slide out. It is really easy to take care of them and they can't climb at all since it is plastic and very smooth :)

I use a 20 gallon aquarium and they can't climb it. I've never even seen them climb the silicone parts on the inside.

They can't unless the plastic is textured... They can only climb the silicone part of an aquarium because it is kind of grippy. I would suggest getting a different tub/caging if you're worried, it might just be that kind of plastic that they can climb (the babies anyways.)

Just try a different container a more glossy one....the baby dubias have microscopic legs they can climb with.

My tub is super glossy smooth on the inside.
