Kinyongia fischeri

Hi all.
Anyone have any links to good info or advice/experience from anyone that have kept these? Have seen a pair in a local shop that i'm quite interested in purchasing. Have had a quick google & read a few old threads on here, but thought i'd just ask here & save me a bit of time.
I'm not new to keeping chameleons btw, but have never kept these before, so any advice will be much appreciated.

They are a montane species thus require lower temps and higher humidity ..I keep mine similar to Jackson's. 85max at basking spot and I try to keep ambient in the low 70s if possible ! Night time drop in temperature is very important I have noticed..They are a very active species so the larger the cage the better. Lots of foliage always helps with humidity and giving more opportunity to hide and feel secure.

Good luck

Thanks.
Is it best to house them individually? Best design of enclosure, mesh or could i use a tall exo terra type tank, with covered back & sides?

Yes definitely house individually as with every other species. I see that you live in the uk so maybe a tank would be easier to control the temps and humidity (as long as you still got good airflow)..ambient of low 60s is fine as long as the basking spot is up to 85 max and lower temp gradients below that

Depends on the species. There are quite a few different species being exported under Kinyongia fischeri, all of them being from different locales/climates. Unless you happened to get a true fischeri, which would be rare. If you post a photo, we might be able to track down what they are.

Thanks fellas.
Looking at available pics i can find & from memory of studying the animals in the shop. I would be inclined to think they are Kinyongia Multituberculata.
Must admit i'm very tempted to buy them. They are WC, but have been in the shop for a few weeks now. So hopefully have acclimatised ok, though shop have them in quite a small tank, which is a bit of a worry?? They had only been moved the day i went in, due to larger reptiles needing the tank they were originally in. Have been informed by one of the staff that they are feeding ok. They are only small, male approx 4 inches i'd say at a guess, body without tail length included that is. Female is a little smaller. I was instantly attracted to the female, as i was watching them, every now and then when i moved closer to have a good look. She would puff up her gulular throat pouch, which was a vivid red colour.
Thanks for the info guy's.

Mean't to add, impressive list your keeping there Mike.

Another question i have is ideal enclosure size for a single animal?

Thanks.

They are very active chameleons so bigger is better if you can. I have mine in relatively small enclosures @16"X16"X30" and they do just fine. But if you have the room, I'd go bigger as long as you make sure they can find their food in such a big space.

If they are K. multi. they like to warm up in the morning and then head to the shade. They seem to like it just a bit warmer than K. mats. I keep my basking areas ~75-80F with ambient in the mid 60'sF. You could probably go a bit warmer basking with a bigger enclosure that allows them room to get away from it when needed.
