ok guys, i have a chameleon and i got him around/before December so 3-4 months, I have noticed the past 3-4 days my chameleon (Kumar) isn't eating much (maybe 1-3 worms a day but no crickets) and i haven't seen him drink, and he's very weak, like won't stand up and walk, he kind of crawls, so tonight i took a straw with my finger on one end and dipped it in water to hold water in it and put it to his mouth and kind of let it drip on him, he opened his mouth and took it in (lick his lips so to say) and i tried to feed him and he only took 1 superworm, he used to eat at least 6-8 a day, so when i was done with trying to get him to drink and eat he started to sit with his mouth open, i tried to put him back in his cage and he wouldn't go, he just sat on my hand so i held him a little while longer, then tried to put him back again, he went and crawled on the side of the cage and i turned the lights out once he sat in there for about 20 mins to digest now when i went to check on him (fearing i'm going to lose him) he was sleeping with his mouth open again.... when i put my finger up to rub him through the cage (as he doesn't mind, nor does it stress him out) he shut his mouth a little so i kept rubbing and he shut it fully, but for more then an hour or more he had his mouth open which he RARELY does, when i rub him under the mouth or between the eyes he usually doesn't mind, he will shut his eyes while i rub then open them back the SECOND i stop but otherwise does anyone have any advice on what might this be about or any advice bout him hardly eating and not drinking? his eyes look good, his colors look good, he's awake during the day, sleeps at night, basking during the day, alert, ect... like i said the only things i see abnormal is his walkinghe has started shaking when trying to walk (the shaking is WAY more then normal) and not drinking and not eating "much"...also i haven't noticed any BMD like multiple elbows, bowing in the arms or legs, his dorsal is hard and high, he isn't falling ect.... He does get his worms and crickets dusted like once a month since it has Vit D3 (I know it should be more but i can't find any vitD without at ANY local pet store) i have also emailed, texted and tried to contact the breeders i bought Kumar from but no contact.. but thank you in advance, i will also post a picture when he wakes up. :)

Chameleon Info:
  • Your Chameleon - veiled chameleon, Male, and about 5-6 months old . How long has it been in your care- about 3-4 months?
  • Handling - How often do you handle your chameleon? once a month (before he got "sick") now i have to hold him to feed and water him daily, he doesn't seem to mind, he doesn't hiss, lunge or bite when trying to pick him up, he stays very calm.
  • Feeding - What are you feeding your cham? Superworms, and crickets What amount? usually feed him until he no longer wants anymore (about 2-3 crickets and 3-4 super worms) or (6-7 crickets with no worms) What is the schedule? a few crickets in the am and a few crickets and/or worms at night How are you gut-loading your feeders? im not sure my husband usually does that
  • Supplements - What brand and type of calcium and vitamin products are you dusting your feeders with and what is the schedule? im not sure what brand and type as my husband deals with dusting and gut-loading
  • Watering - What kind of watering technique do you use?- Water Dripper How often and how long to you mist? until his humidity is at 85-95% Do you see your chameleon drinking? i did until 2-3 days ago, the first time i seen him drink since he started to act like this was when i held him and "forced him to drink" which he drank a lot with me doing that
  • Fecal Description - Briefly note colors and consistency from recent droppings. a tad bit of yellow mixed with mostly white, and solid black poop. Has this chameleon ever been tested for parasites? not that i know of, but im not sure if the breeder did that before Kumar was shipped to me...
  • History - Any previous information about your cham that might be useful to others when trying to help you.- not really, he has be healthy, active, shedding, normal behavior until recently...

Cage Info:
  • Cage Type - Describe your cage (Glass, Screen, Combo?) all screen What are the dimensions? 18' X 18' X 36'
  • Lighting - What brand, model, and types of lighting are you using? he had a double lighting system, one for his uvb and another bulb, but i cant remember what kind of bulb it is, i think its like a basking light What is your daily lighting schedule? 9am on- 9am off, its on a timer...
  • Temperature - What temp range have you created (cage floor to basking spot)? cage floor is 80 and basking is 93 Lowest overnight temp?-75 How do you measure these temps? i have a temp/humidity thermometer as well as a digital thermometer at the top of the cage to monitor basking temps
  • Humidity - What are your humidity levels?- humidity usually stays between 80-95% How are you creating and maintaining these levels? dripper, and spray bottle to spray the cage and plants down What do you use to measure humidity? a humidity thermometer....
  • Plants - Are you using live plants? If so, what kind? no, all fake (but a lot of fake plants) im nervous to put a live plant in his cage as i dont/ didn't want to make him sick.
  • Placement - Where is your cage located? middle of room... Is it near any fans, air vents, or high traffic areas? No. At what height is the top of the cage relative to your room floor? i have Kumar's cage on top of a dresser so when i need to walk up to it, his cage is higher then myself (i'm 5'1)
  • Location - Where are you geographically located? Im located in PA

Current Problem - the current problem im worried about is that he may have BMD or something else may be wrong with him...

This is filled out to the best of my knowledge!!

I have to try and feed him soon so i will try and get some pictures to post so you guys can see what he looks like
