Having some problems with our Chameleon Moojoo.
Chameleon Info:
Your Chameleon - Panther, Male, Approx. 5years old, Had him from a baby.
Handling - Rarely
Feeding - Primarily Locusts, with some wax worms as treats. 3-4 Locust every few days. Locust are fed bug grub and fresh fruit and veg.
Supplements - Nutrobal - multi vitamin and calcium once every 2 weeks.
Watering - Misted several times daily using an automatic misting system. Approx. 30sec - 1 min every 4 hours. Never had any issues with the chameleon drinking.
Fecal Description - Light brown with white urates. Slightly softer than usual. He has never been tested for parasites however is captive bred and has not been in contact with other reptiles while in my care.
History - Had him for 5 years, he has always been alert, and active. No change in husbandry. He seems to have a weaker tongue than usual but is still managing to eat.
Cage Info:
Cage Type - Natural Terrarium Medium/Wide - 60 x 45 x 45 cm / 24” x 18” x 18” (WxDxH)
Lighting - Duel top canopy with 1 x UVB 5.0 and 1 x UVB 2.0 and 2 x 35w hallogen basking spots. 12hour photo period, 8am - 8pm.
Temperature - Heat mat at the bottom, 2 basking spots at the top as above. Temp during the day is around 25'c. Temp at night is around 20'c. Measured with digital thermometer.
Humidity - Digital hydrometer installed. Humidity around 50%.
Plants - Yes, ficus plant.
Placement - Located in the living room in the corner and has been here for a number of years with no issues. No fans or air vents. The enclosure is around 5ft 6" from the floor.
Location - UK - England
Current Problem - He is hanging upside down a lot or is just balanced without holding on in between his plants. His skin and colour seems drab and not as colourful. He is spending as lot of time at the bottom of his cage. I'm not sure if this is a sign of him getting old or whether there is something more going on.
