Life Is good - new chams and others

Laurie! You got some new scaly family members! You know what's coming next, don't you? Hurry up and post some pics cos I wanna see what you got! Red eyed tree frogs are the only frogs that I would like to have. They are just so cool looking! :D

I envy you Laurie! All sorts of new creatures to coddle and watch settle in.

I kept Malaysian leaf frogs (Megophrys nasuta) some years ago but sent my little breeding group to a zoo aquarium hoping they'd have better climatic spawning conditions. How I miss them and their VW bug car horn honking! Nocturnal frogs are a good choice for me with our higher humidity, cool to moderate temps, and no full spectrum basking requirements. Saw an ad on kingsnake for leaf frogs just recently, but don't know if I dare even try to have any shipped here. Plus, most imports (there are no cbb M. nasuta) have been exposed to chytrid fungal infections which I'd have to treat immediately hoping for the best. On top of all that, we have such limited shipping options and the weather could strand them for days. Still I'm very tempted.

Gotta love these faces!

Carlton I think you should just give in and go for it. That is what I finally had to do. It really makes your day to get new critters.

Dang it, I did not know you sold your group! :( Those things are so darn cool!

Wait until those tree frogs start barking ALL night LONG!!!!! after three nights with NO sleep, we will see how happy you are. Mine used to freak my cocker out. He would get madder at them than me, at night while sleeping. :)

I didn't sell them. They were on "breeding loan" though I would be very surprised if any are still around. As we hoped, their trans-continental jet flights put them into a breeding frenzy and two females spawned successfully. Hatched a couple hundred tads, but morphing wasn't successful. Probably nutritional issues.
