Light constantly blowing out

hi guys, I have a year old panther and im having an absolute nightmare with the lighting situation. I'm finding myself needing to replace his basking lamp every three weeks or so. It is an Arcadia basking bulb and costs around £10 so buying a new one so often is really frustrating and expensive! Any help as to why the bulb is blowing so often, cheaper/better alternatives would be great, thanks

Try getting a ceramic infrared heat emitter. Emits no light (so you can use it day and night - since chameleons needs total darkness at night) but it emits the radiant heat that chameleons love. They also last very, very long!

So get any 35-75 watt wide flood halogen. Or get a dimmer for your bulb in case your house voltage is on the high side. Or figure out if your hood is causing the bulbs base to get way to hot.

i am beging to think it could be the hood as read a lot of bad reviews about exo terra glow light recently! best light/fixture brands to get guys?

Here's what's happened, bulb has complete blown apart, and stuck in side the lamp!

Hi , try a utility light fixture. I believe if your uses a deep...and the key word is deep dome light it sounds like it could get to hot and shorten the life of the bulb. The utility light fixture has a dome but wider air flow. It might work:rolleyes:
