Lighting Questions

I have this light on a 24x24x48 cage with a reptisun 5.0 bulb. Is this lighting adequate for a veiled chameleon's cage or should I upgrade the bulb to a 10.0? Also is the one bulb enough for a cage this size or should I have 2 UVB bulbs? And what temperature should be max for basking spot? Thanks for any help. Last thing, is this light capable of sustaining live plants in a cage this size?

Lightyourreptiles.com has the best lights and customer srervice. arcadia bulbs are excellent uvb bulbs. I have 4 bulbs in my 2 dual 24 inch tropic blaze high output T5 fixtures. 1 12% Arcadia bulb (heavily planted enclosure) 2 6.5k daylight bulbs, and 1 plantpro bulb (my plants are very happy)

Because your asking some basic questions please read the following

Your enclosure should be up and running BEFORE you get you chameleon.

I have not yet bought a chameleon MVad. I am getting the enclosure setup first as you said and I have read that article already. I was asking about the specific light I have. Looking for someone who has experience with this fixture. Gotwqqd, how are you sure of this and is the UVB output enough? Anymore responses would be greatly appreciated.

It will be enough UV as long is the screening is not too dense.
But it may not be enough to grow live plants because there is just not enough light except for lower light plants. For live plants please add a similar fixture with a 6.5K daylight bulb.

Cheers.

Those led don't put out that much light especially for a tall enclosure, I have one and I still had to use more lights completely defeating the purpose on why I bought the LED set up..

With an incandescent for heat it's plenty of light.
Plants may need be carefully placed in relation to things blocking the growth lights.

Thanks for all your replies. Ill probably end up changing out the light for a 24" linear 4 bulb fixture with a reptisun 10.0 bulb (since its a 48" tall screen enclosure) and three grow bulbs along with my current basking lamp. Any feedback on this setup would be appreciated. Thanks again
