Lily's *NEW* Bioactive Build!

Most of the sticks are in, now! Gonna let them cure overnight, see if I feel like adding some more before I decorate.

Sticks are in, and I did some decorating with some dried pillow moss (no preservatives) that I picked up. I'm hoping that it'll keep that nice green color, but we'll see! Fingers crossed. If it works out, I'll redo Kiz' enclosure with the same stuff.

Gonna let it off gas for another day or so, and then it's planting time! I don't have as many plants as I'd like, but I'll get the pieces I do have in and then see what holes I have to fill.

Looking great! If only had the time and extra money to do something like this!

It's definitely a bit of a time/money investment to be sure! I've blown my budget by about $200 and counting, and I've barely started plant shopping lol!

Looking good!

Thank you! Looking forward to planting. That's always when a build really comes together!

Currently on the plant list: varigated green wandering jew, Korean rock fern, sugarvines, possibly some of my parlor palm and goldfish plants. Havent decided for sure, yet! I definitely want some sort of attractive ground cover, and maybe some air plants or something. Hmmmm...

Witnessing this amazing transformation is what I love most about your build threads. Your enclosure went from a murderous tree to an awesome junglescape within the span of a few days.

I can't wait to see the final result after you added plants and other finishing touches!

By the way, is there a particular brand of pillow moss that you used? Most of the dried stuff I found for sale has artificial green color added to it.

Thank you! :D We're coming up on the final stretch, now, and I do love getting them all planted up!! Gonna have to check the nurseries again next weekend. Sadly, I'm on day 1 of an 11 day work week, so I'll have to make do for now unless I can convince my plant friend to pick things up for me haha! Murder tree is kind of fun, though. Maybe I'll do a themed build some day!

This is the brand that I used, purchased at the local big box (PetSmart):

Guess who broke the glass again???:cautious: I thought I was being all clever, taking the doors off this time. And then I tripped over my own feet and took out the left door. Sooooo, I'm talking to my local shop to see if I can get a replacement, and in the mean time I guess I'm rigging up another screen curtain!

Anyway! Here are a couple quick initial set up photos. I'll take nicer ones later, when I'm less enraged, haha! I'll be going plant shopping sometime in the next couple weeks to flesh it out some more, maybe get some color in there. Happy with it so far, though! :D

Im sorry for your bad luck but it did make me giggle! 0 for 2! I wonder, could you make your own door out of acrylic?

Possibly; I still have the actual frame. If I knocked out all of the glass and glued in another pane, maybe...? Hmm! I'll look into it if I can't just get another door. I'm low on effort right now, haha! Maybe I'll have better luck with the eventual 3rd one. :p

I wouldn't use acrylic for a door. been there done that several times and they always warp tremendously unless welded to other panels on at least 3 sides. I heard clear PVC works well but it's quite expensive.

Yeah, I'm definitely going to look into just buying the door, first. I don't want to deal with it, Haha!

Yes! A good Stick Lick Pic! Good job, I can’t wait to see everything fill in!

Thanks! It's gonna be hard just leaving it alone. I'm hoping that the sides will be completely covered by vines, eventually. Gonna see if I can find some good airplants and some colorful ground foliage next time I'm able to go shopping. I need to go and grab some adhesive velcro tomorrow so I can rig up another "curtain", and I may as well check for some plants too.
