I just got a ball python last night, which ive had before, but he is only 2-2 1/2 months and ive never had one this young. Im looking for some husbandry info. Im more worried about what can and cant go in his cage. Hes setup safely right now, but im looking to make a "pretty" cage haha.

His name is Jormungandr :)

turns out i had it almost on the right track haha

what help do u need?

I had questions about substrate, ideal temps and climbing things. But got it figured out :)

hot side is a nice 86-92 with an under tank pad, cool side is 75-80, humidity is 50-60%, have 2 hiding spots, a big thign of water and i think the little guy is perfect after that. Im going to get some aspen chips in a few days to give it a little more of an "alive" look and im wrapping the back and sides of the cage in a few moments.

Sound good?

The aspen is a good choice however, I have found it to be too drying on the tummy, leading to sore spots. I'd switch it to a ground paper substrate. It comes in different brand names...Care Fresh being one. It's softer and less drying on the scutes. Have fun with your new best friend...they are soooo relaxing.

They sell aspen at wal mart in the pet section by the rabbit style stuff, its only around three dollars for a real good amount... it's what i used and had no problems, helps keep up humidity, non toxic and some feel that it helps trigger a feeding response.

Another good one is non adhesive shelf liner, doesnt help with humidity but makes cleaning a breeze.

Nice snake by the way!
