looking for baby male panther

Not sure what you consider outrageous but an average cost for a male Panther is between $250 & $350 each. And that is not outrageous there’s a lot of work put into them before they can even be ready for a new forever home. Also if your concern is the price of the Cham oh boy are you in for a rude awakening! That’s only the beginning when all said and done your looking at upwards of a $1000 or more. So if price is your issue perhaps this hobby isn’t for you.

Beware of any seller who is willing to send you a panther under 3-4 months old, regardless of price. I have seen far too many stories of people receiving "baby" panthers that fail to thrive and die for no outwardly apparent reason.
If you really want to save money and take a risk, find someone who will sell you some freshly laid eggs. They can withstand shipping for about a week (depending on who you ask) after laid depending on temperature, and if you buy a few you can raise the hatchlings, keep your male, and then sell off any you don't wish to keep.
Failing that, wait for Salty, he is offering you a steal price.

OP never even told us what an Outrageous price is lol? Saltys deal is beyond great btw.
BTW, if your going the shipping method, you can add 50-100 dollars to the price for that as well. It costs around 70-80 to ship a Chameleon, alot of breeders will eat some of that cost and do like "50 Flat Rate" but the shipping is not cheap, and thats just the shipping not including the price of the insulated box, the heat/cold packs, ect. Shipping live animals is not cheap. Nor is raising them.
I would advise heavily against buying eggs.
The issue with buying eggs for one thing, they take 6+ months to hatch, so when they dont, your PP protection (Not that you have much with animals) is gone. Your at the mercy of your own success dealing with a fragile baby, and thats a pretty shady practice and the big egg sellers, have less than stellar reviews about them from others that have tried that.
I will also tell you, that I was where you are, when getting my first chameleon as an Adult (had some as a kid, but my first as an Adult) back in 2013. I thought I could beat the system, and get a Cham cheap. I did! I got one from a well known flipper. I was ecstatic! I paid only 150 (+ the shipping 200), YA ME. Then the Chameleon arrived, with a serious RI, 2 different types of Parasites (Pin, and Round Worms) 2 weeks and 2 vet visits later, he was still in rough shape my vet said he would be surprised if he made it through the week. At the 6 week mark, he had finally passed. With my vet, telling me that the shape it was in they were amazed it lived that long.
Point is, you get what you pay for, and all I got, was heartache, and lost money. I spent more than the 350 I could have paid, and still lost. Salty is a good guy, that knows his husbandry and I would trust his babies, his price is a steal (which is why he has a waiting list!). I would be very Leary of anyone else selling a chameleon for 150. However clarify with Salty the age of a "Small Juvi" as 1-2 month olds are usually the ones sold at that price, and for experienced keepers that are buying bulk to flip, at a later age, thats okay. For a new keeper, I wouldn't suggest it.

Right, I use ship my reptile next day service, it's not cheap. I have regular customers they have seen where I keep and raise mine, so it is very very easy for me, no problems!! I've shipped 1 cham. it arrived safely with no problems, and is doing well, I will not ship one under 2 months, 3 month old are 200.00.....actually to think about it..I kind of work for a few other breeders....they are pretty adamant about buying the offspring I produce, lol.. they provide the females and some of the males...I have to sneak a few to sell...although it hasn't been a problem and they pay fair

Yep SYR is actually cheaper than using UPS/FedEx yourself too. Still expensive. Next day by 10am or even by 4, is not cheap lol.
The price quote a gave was SYR pricing. Go to FedEx on your own, and that price almost doubles lol.
Not to mention the insulated box is like 20 dollars too, complete (box, deli cup, cold/heat packs).
Alot of those 350 guys do just that. They are spending 100+ to ship so they charge 50 flat, as no one thinks 100 shipping is reasonable but thats what it costs. So they bake that extra 50 into animal pricing.
Or in the case of like frogs that are cheap, they assume you will buy 4-5 so they bake in 10 shipping into each. On cheap one offs, the only people selling those are big businesses. They eat the loss, they have given you the animal free pretty much (and pay less for shipping) in the hopes that you will be a return customer for supplies/food ect.

Chams are expensive my veiled chameleon will be 185 with shipping but I believe it’s because of the bloodline and colors I think it’s that way with panthers

I mean there is quite a few reasons.
Bloodlines and Colors are sort of an aspect. However more so proper care to me.
To breed and raise babies properly costs money. Panthers don't have many eggs, half as many or less than veileds, and veileds tend to be sold as WC.
Picking a cham out of the Florida forests, is going to be cheaper than breeding and raising one. No one seems to want WC florida panthers.
I dont live in florida and never seen them first hand to verify. However from the videos I have seen Panthers in Florida look more like Os. They seem to have made there own locale there, they are not colorful, more like shades of gray, with a white stripe.
Not saying they all look like that, just that the videos I have seen of Florida Wild panthers have all seemed to look like that.
There is defiantly breeders that breed 1000s of chameleons a year, badly and have sick weak animals. Like puppy mills. Thats where those 35 dollar veilieds come from mostly. You can see videos online of Petcos big breeders, thag breed beardies and veilieds. They live in tubs with multiple animals each tub. Its pretty horrid.
Has anyone else noticed almost 24 hours later and still not a single peep from @VegasMerc ?. I wonder if the reality scared he/she away?
