Lost Chameleon

  • Yesterday, my veiled was sitting in a 6’ tall potted ginkgo. I wa sitting on the floor at the base. There was nothing on the deck within 10 feet of the tree, I was maintaining visual every 3-5 minutes, but somehow he snuck off. The deck varies from 4-8 feet above ground. It’s been 12 hours and I roam and link constantly. I have binoculars to search the tops of trees that are in proximity to that deck. We had heavy rainfall last night, so assuming he would be cold, I rode early to check the sunny spots. No luck
  • If anyone can share any suggestion or hope, I would be extremely grateful. Horace holds a special place in my heart after losing so many of my loved ones and being scapegoated by this tiny southern community i’vecome To live it.
  • Thank you all from the bottom of my heart

Guys!! I lost Tarzan!! I put him on a little spike tree just outside my house and next to it is a really big bush that Tarzan could easily had gone to i went out to stores like at 10:00 and came back like at 4:00 and when i got back i couldnt find him ... and my heart is racing so hard ... i really have to find him its been almost 18 hrs and the night was a bit chilly any tips on how to attract him or how to find him..... he probably thinks i abandoned him or something anything would help thank you:(
Have you tried tempting him back with a female? Works sometimes.

Very sorry about that... I really hope you can find him, Brad could be right he probably didn't go too far. :(
Much luck from me!

Maybe he posted up underneath the deck for a hiding sleep position and is waiting for warmth to venture out and bask.

I'm grateful ours is to small to get down off his plants, but he tries and tries everytime, resorting to tail hanging at times....

Unfortunately I don’t have a female to temp him with. I’ve been doing a thorough look at least every hour, under the deck as well. Was warm and sunny today, but he never showed himself. Will be trying the flashlight hunting tonight. My biggest worry is that a predator got him. It’s just been 24 hours and my heart is broken.
Thanks for all the suggestions. If he’s found, you will be the first to know.
Thanks again

He is still missing. Put out his fave food, removed the nearby shrubbery. Craweled under the deck. Please offer any and all suggestions .. thanks in advance, it’s now going on 36 h0urs. Search all night with a flashlight as well.
