Lost colour?

In my experience the reptibreeze do not compare to our sponsors at LLL and DIYcages. The screen and hinges rust very badly and they cost considerably more.

Really? I have all 3 of mine in those. Works just fine. What do you mean by low quality though? It's a simple screen cage.. not sure what do you want from it=)

Not the most sturdy and the screen is fairly weak. Does the job though but I like the high quality ones

regarding your colour issue.. My banja got quite bleak recently as well. Must be something in the air ey But he is still very young, so it's not his final colours. Yours looks quite young as well, so I wouldn't worry too much

Yeh he's still growing and still got colours to come through so hopefully its just the time of the year and ambients are abit low. In summer he should get them back. I'll be changing his lights soon to higher power ones to see if the added heat penetration helps

sometimes I feel like I live on another planet:) I haven't noticed them being weak or not sturdy.. or rusty. i take them apart every once a while and clean thoroughly. Have not had issues yet. Perhaps I haven't used them long enough.

Regarding DIY.. I can put a nail in the wall or drill a hole with the powerdrill i bough for my mistking.. that's about it=) So for now ready made all the way for me! The choice is not that great over here.. either that or glass vivs.. which are not good either.

when im old, rich and famous I would get somebody to build an enclosure-wall in one of the rooms.. but for now - reptibreeze

Where are you from? UK? The glass exoterra ones are great for UK weather but pricey

Edinburgh.

I had an exoterra one.. and I absolutely hated it. It never dried fully so the humidity would go up to 90% at night (it was before i got Mistking). With my DIY skills drainage was impossible. Ripley didn't like it either, she was scratching the glass constantly. And it kinda smelled even though I cleaned it vigorously.
Now I have reptibreeze x3, proper drainage and a happy little family:)

Anyone had this before where your cham loses colours? Basically male ambilobe was getting a gorgeous set of reds on him and looking really good then winter hit and his cage was redone to keep him at his temps etc
But he seems to have lost his red. If he goes any colour its more yellow green whereas before red use to pop! Now no red at all

Any ideas why? He eats mainly locusts with repashy calcium+ every other day and just plain calcium nod3 everyday. Nothing a changed much except his cage I've rearranged a few times

this actually happened with my ambanja hybrid as well.. he used to be really green and blue, now hes brown and ugly... if anyone has an answer that would be awesome.. sorry i couldnt help.

how old are your chameleons?

as well as the gutloading things mentioned by other members, loss of color makes me think of them not being fully mature and therefore not having reached their full adult coloring yet. if they are still maturing they are going to change coloration quite a bit! in this blog by Olimpia, she compares two panthers of the same age in the same conditions growth with pictures and i post it here because it shows how much their coloration changes as they mature. http://muchadoaboutchameleons.blogspot.com/2012/07/two-panthers-growing-up-photo.html

thats just my two cents on it :)
