Low Maintenance water supply/control - Thoughts?

I've designed my humidity and misting so that it can pretty much be left alone. I've used a sprinkler valve and timer (as regular garden water timers did not provide the necessary scheduling) to run 4 times a day without needing to be refilled. My humidifiers are also fed from a hose so they do not need to be refilled either. Water quality was my first concern, but I have a whole-house water filter. I still had the water tested just to be safe, and it came back with very little contaminants. The bottom of his cage where the water collects can be pulled out and emptied. The timer and valve came out to be cheaper than any refillable system I could find as well (about $60)

Thoughts/concerns?

Does anyone else have a system like this?

Im open to advice and constructive criticism :)

The only potential problem I see, is the use of the black garden hose for the supply line. That looks to be a completely closed system (black hose is always filled with water) so there shouldn't be any bacterial build-up in the hose. If you were to get any contaminates over time, I think that's where they'd be coming from. My experience is in marine aquariums though and we would never use a garden hose for a supply line.
My two cents.
