Lucy died

I have um...60w bulbs from my turtles I had. Idk what they were called but they were from walmart. they work??

not one those...Just a normal looking bulb thats a 60w. Do I need to buy a higher bulb?

Not if your measuring your temps correctly and a 60w gives you the desirable temps. Are you measuring temps? if so with what? are your temps correct for the age of your vieled?

btw, in the future, and i mean no disrespect, I would refrain from passing on advice until you've gained some experience and seen results with your own husbandry, especially if your not sure your information is 100% accurate. If you yourself are still learning (all of us are still learning even senior members) and needing advice, just start your own thread rather then, and i use this term loosley "hi-jacking" a thread. Especially one about a Cham's death.

My regards are with you Steve.

very sorry to hear about Lucy.

you have been missinformed. they are quite capable of noticing red light. It can and usually DOES distrub them.

So much sad news lately :( :( :( !
I'm so sorry steve, my veiled just passed on Thanksgiving.
How did you handle it?

And it's the same concept as when most UVB bulbs say on them to change them every year, when really, it's six months.
There's no need for the red bulb unless your house goes under 50 at night, which it shouldn't :)

So sorry to hear about Lucy, I too know what it's like. Thinking of you.

I'm sorry you lost her.

Thanks to you all!
@Bimac, I'm fine. Have been prepared for about a week. Its sad, but, its time to move on. Very sorry about your own.

I'm sorry, Steve. You did what you could with what you had, and that's what matters the most.

Keep moving forward, don't look back. Good luck.

My dad looked in the enclosure this morning. Her eyes were sunken (She was severely dehydrated) and pale.
I cant bury her, with the ground frozen solid (-40) so I dont know what to do.

Remember: keep the temps 79-81, or there's a higher chance of egg binding.
