major problem w kevin!!!

Hi quick update on Kevin...two Days ago he ad a poop and his butter worms were still fairly intact! So I decided to make bug juce for him and we are having some improvement...I am squeezing the innards of a variety of his worms and crickets into a little dish where I suck them into a syringe combined with his meds...he is doing pretty well w it! Just so you know....hornworms smell like peanut butter....no wonder they enjoy them so much lol!:D:D

Sounds like you are doing a great job and I am so glad to hear the good news about Kevin! I can't wait to see updated pictures :)

By the way, I see the butterworm situation you are talking about on occaision with my chams, especially the bigger butterworms (and also phoenix worms). If you poke a hole in them the cham will be able to digest better as their stomach acid will reach the inside of the worm.

Keep up the great work!

Kevin's new news

Hi everyone we have new developments on Kevin! He is doing well! He has gained three grams and on Monday he had his third round of dewormer which expelled a huge amount of them...I couldn't believe my eyes and we do have pics...his necrotic scab fell away from his thermal burn revealing his healed new skin that we still coat daily w flamazine cream. He is still on baytril and has become quite active, he is drinking from a syringe that I present to him and seems to enjoy his bug smoothly every morning...we just need to plump him up a bit now! The veterinarians that we have been seeing are very impressed w his progress and admitted to us on Friday that they were very excited about Kevin's turn around and results!:) they say he is a real fighter! Will keep posting on progress!!!!!

Well done!! I'm so happy that Kevin is getting better :) I know they very warming feeling when you see them go from bad to better, it's rly enjoyable :)

Hi everyone we have new developments on Kevin! He is doing well!

That is wonderful news!
I had asked how he was doing in another thread and was very happy to see this one.
It shows you how important a good vet and good cham caretaker are even for a strong cham like Kevin.
Keep up the good work!
Any pics of Kevin in his beautiful new skin?
