MarryJane smoke and my Chameleon.

why dont you just go outside? if it is a medical perscrition, you should be able to smoke it anyplace-
I almost threw 2 ppl OUT of my house a few weeks ago for smoking by my cham - I called Laurie- lol - and when she said the smoke was not good for her- the fight was on  - they were like 20 ft away from her - but- they ended up going outside ( it was like 10 out - burrrrrrr ) but I also have kids in the house- so sorry - NO SMOKING !! in my house - I smoke ( cigs) , but NEVER in the house or car

Besides the fact that the pot smoke is horribly unacceptable for a chameleon, I have to ask; Kilothechameleon do you use supplements? UVB lights and gutloaded your feeders? I'm not trying to be mean but it appears you have MUCH to learn in the care of chameleons and I wonder to what extent you are caring for yours!

Perhaps it may be wise to out down the pipe and do some reading on here so that your little cham has the best shot at a good life with you! Again I'm not trying to be mean but I just love these little creatures and they ALL deserve at chance at a great life!

And yes, a great start would be to move your Cham into the bedroom and either smoke outside or put a towel at the bottom of the bedroom door so none gets inside to harm your Cham.

Good luck!

...is this a joke?

No, don't smoke anything near any of your animals. There is not a single creature on the planet that benefits from smoke inhalation. Probably because it's been proven to be bad for pretty much every part of your body.

Big shocker.

Well we used to have are cham in the same room we smoked weed in aswell and did not think anything of it but we started to notice him weezening alot we and started to think is it the smoke cus he would be sleepin high in his cage at night and obv breathing in the smoke so we moved him into the bedroom as far away from were we smoking and he improved alot now we have a full room for him were we keep the door close now and he does not weeze anymore so i would say keep it as far away u can

I joined this forum because the local pet store lied to me.

Yes I have a UVB light/lamp and a basking light/lamp.

They sold me Vitamin D3 calcium, I fed it to him for 3 days then learned the D3 is bad, so I am only using that one once a month.
Getting a calcium powder Friday.

I feel the same way, I'm not smoking next to his cage, we're in the other room.
I just wanted to make sure I wasn't causing harm

Thus i relazied I shouldn't have him exposed to the smoke, thus I moved him into our bedroom and shut the door and no smoke goes in.

I find it obsurd that you could come at me so wrongly.

I am unexperienced, but that doesnt mean I dont love my anaimal.

I PAID $300 alone for my cham, they ripped me off, I thought he was so beautiful I spent so much money and was lied too about everything

joining this forum saved my Chams life, I respect your concern and appricate you addressing it properly and not attacking me!!

I understand we all love our Chams. And I dont want to sound ignorant ... But I am trying my best. I got a cham at 1 1/2 years old so I wouldn't struggle rasising a baby Chameleon.

Please continue to support me, and not bash me. I'm trying my best, ReptileLover18 has been PMing me for 3 days now. She is getting me in tip top condition.

I have been PMing many others as well, seeking advice, learning tips.. Anything..

please dont be shy, as long as you remain respectful. My chameleon is in no shape/form of trouble.

I have read many of Lauries posts she's truly an amazing women!!!

I hope my Cham will turn such great colors on me one day :)

Gotta change his dripper catcher bowl, be back in a bit!

No poop or urate though, he's keeping his brances clean too.
The old setup, he used to poop in his vines and bushes.

Now I sutffed all the similiar silk vines together and he loves hiding up in them, I have alot of vines/sticks and an elaborate drip system...

OH MY GOD!! I CAUGHT KILO BITTING ON THE DRIPPER RUBBER TUBE TODAY!! I THINK HE WAS SUCKING ON I LIKE A STRAW!!!!!!!!!!! I know hes not dehydrated, his urate is always always ALWAYS a creamy white center!!!

Constantly spraying/Plants are always damp from the dripper :)

Humans are creatures and marijuana can have beneficial aspects :)

Especially for someone who has reocurring testicular cysts. I have had 1 prior surgery, getting my ultra sound done today and going in for surgery by the end of winter. It's the only thing that relieves my pain. I refuse to pop pain killers, I hate drinking..... So I smoke, some can frown on me.. but lets be realistic if I listened to doctors and took there Percosets, I'd be shooting up by now because its been 2 years they've tried. I just could never imagine! haha sorry to change the chameleon subject, But I feel like some think I'm just some drug addict??

attacks are unneeded and do not help in any way. the question has already been answered. if you have nothing kind to say, its best to say nothing at all as my preschool teacher taught me......

Please point out to me what part of my initial question and then statement was an attack?

you asking "..... is this a joke?" is somewhat rude when it obviously was not.
you then saying "big shocker" is also very rude and can be see as an attack. as i stated, if you dont have something nice to say, dont say anything at all. he asked a question, and yes, animals should be kept away from all kinds of smoke. that was stated time and time again and he has moved his chameleon. end of story. there was no need to comment rudely on the thread. simply stating that. this forum is prided on being a kind and helpful community and we need to keep it that way!

why does my cham poop white waxy blobs surrounded in water then?

is than abnormal?

Ive never seen him poop it, but clean 2-3 runny white turds up.

I think what you're describing is the Chams urates. Its a metabolic excretion that looks similar to wet plaster. Its a great meter for hydration. When the cham isn't getting enough fluids the urates turn an off white to brown color.

Same way it could cause gum cancer in humans I'm not a vet or expert by any means just what my vet said I have no factual data and don't have a clue if its true or not just throwing it out there. Maby cotton mouth is really hard on their gums idfk

"mouth rot" is caused by an infection ( ie: bacteria). Gum cancer is not the result of any type of infection (that I've ever heard)...cancers can be caused by long term exposure to chemicals in tobacco that damage DNA. Damaged DNA ends up producing abnormal and malignant cells. I don't know if there are known carcinogens in pot or not, other than the tars from burning the leaf.

There are. Any burning thing that contains carbon releases carcinogens, generally the more carbon the higher the amount of carcinogens.

Yes i just learned all about Urates last night!! It was really cool! Kilo has been pooping white since I had him, the first day I brought him home, he deffinitly had yellow urate. I'm proud to say he urates on his live plants like its his job!!!!
