Meet Kane!!

ChameleonMom

New Member
I am so excited to have a new member of my chameleon family! Kane is a 1.5 year old male veiled that was originally found living in an aquarium with one branch, no plant and a dirty waterfall. He was rescued by a member of this forum but proved to be more work than she expected when she already had reptiles and a family to care for, along with full time work. Needless to say we connected via the classifieds and as she lives about 10 minutes from me, I knew it was meant to be and I arranged to bring him home!

Kane may be a little dehydrated as his eyes seem a little bit sunken as well as his casque, but the member I got him from took great care of him and he seems very healthy otherwise! I can't wait to spend some time with him and get him on my Cham schedule.

Anyways, here he is:

so glad hes found a great home with you!! sounds like it was meant to be as you said :) im sure he's already a million times happier since he was first rescued :D

Nice to see you are giving Kane a new home and better living conditions. I know what you mean about living close, so you kinda had to take him! I did the same thing with a forum member a year ago. He was getting rid of his Sambava(I really did not want another Sambava) and it turned out he lived 5 minutes from me. When I saw him I knew I could give him a better a life and so I did!!

He is a beauty, so glad you got him and can give him the wonderful home that he deserves...congratulations on getting that boy!

Thanks everyone, I am very, very happy to have him here - he is super friendly and sweet, and so far there's no evidence of the famous veiled attitude! I have spent some time working in this cage this morning and he's exploring and seems content! I think he's going to fit in JUST fine!

ps: Jann thanks for the link. Uploading pics from my iPhone never works! :)

Its funny because I had seen the original ad for this guy on the classifieds. (Back when he was living in the 30 gal fish tank.) I wanted to rescue him but did not have the time/space because I was looking after Camo & Isis (ChameleonMom's chameleons) over the winter break. Isis had just had surgery and I did not want to bring a possibly sick Veiled into the house...

Its neat how things worked out! So happy Kane will pampered for the rest of his life. He deserves it!!!! :)

Awwww...really Julia? Its just a little ironic that you caring for my sick little Isis over Christmas prevented Kane from being adopted by you - and now he's made his way to our home, with Isis as his chameleon sister!! Strange how things worked out but I'm very happy it did - he's a wonderful Cham! :)

Congrats on your new family member! Best of luck with him. He looks very happy and I'm glad he has a stable home and great future ahead! ;)
