Mel the melleri

Great job Maia!

I'm very fortunate that all my guys have gone to great homes so far. I only have three left. :( It's really sad actually. I miss the 82 eye balls staring at me.

He is looking good and coming into his greens. I'm happy that you are creating a thread so I can check in on him! Keep up the great work....really makes me happy to see this!!!
Wow! That's just a few babies! :ROFLMAO:

Mel's 1st shed. He's a whopping 5 gm now too. Still only eats flies.

Nice Maia!!! He looks fantastic!!!! Awesome job!

Some of the babies I kept are in the same weight range and some are closer to 10 grams. Just goes to show how different their growth rates can be.

Keep the pics coming. I made a good choice with you ;)!

I'm so glad to hear that coming from you! It is also quite flattering to know you think I was a good choice. I fret over him constantly.
Dont mellers really like flying insects? Even compared to other chameleons.
That has been my experience so far, Mel won't eat anything but flies. I'm looking forward to summer and catching him wild caught flying insects. I don't have Texas sized bugs here but I have some big deer and horse flies, lots of moths, butterflies, cicadas, and my panthers favorite katydids.

Yay good job for becoming more relaxed. I remember when I had my first ever chameleon who I still have with me today, old man lol, I checked on him every hour the first weeks he was sent to me, it started to lessen slowly after a bit.

My melleri anxiety is finally starting to lessen. I see him eating, drinking, pooping, and growing. He appears healthy. I think he's going to be ok. I only check on him 4-5 times a day now.

Lol. I know exactly how you feel. I fret like that over all my chameleons. I don't know if I ever truly 100% relax.

I'm glad you are starting to breath a little bit!!

I have OCD, obsessive chameleon disorder. I'm relatively relaxed with my other ones, I feel like I know what I'm doing with them and know what to do when something goes wrong. Mel is my first venture into montane species and I feel like I dived right into the deep end with him. But now I'm also kinda addicted and I want more. I enjoy the challenge.

Ugh. Even in a shed that boy is absolutely......ABSOLUTELY stunning. Really good job, glad he's eating and drinking and over all showing signs of a really healthy chameleon. It's refreshing being as I feel like the forums hit a real sick stride lately....maybe because it's winter? (Shrugs shoulders). Get one more chameleon and as awkward as it will be Tony and I will be moving in. Then you can feed and water us too! (Tony and I are super spoiled though so brace yourself)

Mel is 8 gm now, only 250 gm to go. I upgraded his home to a large zilla enclosure. He was starting to climb the sides of his small reptibreeze. I'm not quite done decorating it but this is what I've gotten done so far. What do you think @jpowell86? How does he look to you? When he's just relaxing he's a very pretty pale green. He gaped at me today too, 1st time for that. It was adorable, I was terrified.
