Hello, I was wondering, do your cameleons lick each other during breeding? My male today licked my female and then he decided not to go further in his reproductive steps. what does it mean? any ideas?

Yesterday, my female did the same thing to my male (without getting on it of course lol )

I plan to separate them soon, do I have to separate them immediately? there is no fighting and no more breeding just.. licking

This is......well fascinating Im not expert with this, but they don't seem to be showing signs of distress or aggression towards each other.....maybe try separating them for a day or two and then introduce them to each other again...?

I tooootttallly agree with you! usually i take my video horizontal view but this time i was too impress by the strange behaviours of my chameleons :/ next time!

This could be an odd thought...but as human keepers we've not been able to visually tell apart the sexes on this species.... maybe they can't either? Need a little taste before they go any farther?

humm, my female heads are bigger and the general shape is really different (at the hips) also the comportement, communication and routine (female are sooooooo routine) and female are bigger too i think!

My theory is that he may be "tasting" her pheramones to see if she is still receptive? Don't wanna risk jumping straight into it if there is a risk of being thrown from the branch and potentially being injured. So "tasting" allows for a quick get away if needed. That's just my thoughts. Maybe right, maybe wrong, but it makes sense to me.
