Melleri Eggs!!

Dubia taste good......

eeek! I just get the chills seeing you using your fingers! lol! You should see me I scoop those things into a tall deli cup and make the beardies or chams go into the cup! lol!
Congrats on the eggs! That is super exciting!!

Next time I pick up crickets with you guys I am gonna have you face your fears :D:p JK! hahahaah oh.. tomorrow is the day huh?;)

She is doing great.. she is drinking well and eating like a beast. I am so happy it is over with. I just hope these eggs are good  I have gotten feedback from one person saying they 'look good'. Maybe i'll hear from more people who have some experience with Melleri eggs to give me a thumbs up.

ideas

Tonight I took some advice I had picked up from our SBCK meeting this last month.

We were talking about incubator temp swings....... The advice given was that if you add some mass to the incubator enclosure it will help regulate the temp. I added four snack sized ziplock bags to my incubator. This was in response to the cool temps I saw this morning when I woke up. I had a three and half degree temp swing from when i went to bed (2am) till I woke up (9am). I am not in the mind set that this will solve my issue entirely but I think it will help keep temps more constant.... a less dramatic temp swing as ambient temps rise and fall.

The implant:

The layout. I think I might move the implants to the outer edge of the incubator between the walls and the eggs. instead of the middle.... or I just might put them in both places.....:

Temp difference related to temp sensor location.... one senor is under the implants while the other is reading air temp opposite of the bags.

aight aight aight... Renee needs to learn how to 'count' because there were not "80+" eggs as she claimed. I never saw the eggs until I unearthed them.

Tylene wins for guessing closest(55)!

hey it is pretty hard to estimate when peeking into a garbage bin, trying not to get caught by a chameleon with 360* viewing capabilities.

Cool! Nice soaker hose. :)

Thanks, I think you gave it to me :D it rocks, perfect for her feet.

She has a great appetite. Do all of your melleri eat fast like that?

As I said before, not all my melleri are that fast.... but since her laying Lenny has been that fast to eat. When she sees hands within her shooting range. when you walk into the room shes even looking at your hands as you go by..... If your hand raises up she focuses on it getting ready to be fed, EVEN if you aren't holding any food for her.:D

Little Pat gets pretty excited when he sees a super worm placed on the screen of the cage... he is a growing boy... or girl... so Pat is allowed to eat well. (just not too well)

I don't think the temp swings are a big deal, day to day, if it's a day temp vs. a night temp. If anything, it's natural. One thing to consider is that insulated by the ground, they won't swing TOO much in nature from day to night. I think a constant temp of 76, plus or minus, wil be perfect. You'll see them in 3 months, 2 weeks. Hehe.

Well I took a look today............ Almost every egg is molding over. Only 5 or so have no mold but I think I can see it starting....

Oh well.... I guess im gonna have to work on courting Lenny with Pat or Henry for next season..... Maybe they'll tolerate each other enough for some bow chica bow wow next year.

Boo Hiss. Sorry to hear that Kevin. I was already thinking about doing some bloodline trades with the offspring. Hopefully Megana will come up with some fertile ones this year. At least you know what Lenny is now. I was looking at some old threads yesterday and saw that I predicted Lenny was a girl when you posted photos of her last fall. I forget, do you know that Pat and Henry are boys?

I don't know what Pat is..... But he does color up like Henry even though he is still young.

Henry I am pretty sure is male. There is a pic on MD of a known male and Henry looks exactly like the boy in the pic.

Today I had Pat near Lenny and she flipped her lobes at Pat and Pat was fired up and gaping.... Prolly thinks she has cooties :p
