That is one of the ones I have used. I layer large river rock stones on top of my soil though roughly 1.5-2 inches in diameter. I get them from the craft store in the floral dept. If I do not Beman eats the soil.

Yup i two have a layer of large stone, for the dirt eaters, and to keep crickets from making little houses.

I used to use these millipedes as part of my clean up crew. They will eat leaf litter and chameleon poop just like any other springtail or isopod. Basically any small critter will fill the clean up crew role if the niche is open in your cage. If you want to help prevent an infestation or population boom, you need to fill the role with a different critter. Try adding isopods or springtails (and keep adding them over time if needed) to eat the bioload that is being consumed by the millipedes. Eventually these isopods will outcompete the millipedes. I know dairy cow isopods are great at consuming the bioload in a terrarium and produce quickly. They should be able to outcompete the millipedes. I have heard of stories of dairy cows eating chameleon eggs so you might want to be careful if your cham is laying eggs soon.

They’re your typical flower pot millipedes, often in most plants you buy. Harmless and feed on decaying matter. That said they can blow up in numbers if there is tons of food and no other cleaners competing with them.
