Milly's New Enclosure In Progress !

My husband and I are altering a old wine cabinet for Milly's new enclosure. We removed some of the pieces and dropped the base that will be used for her floor down a bit. We are sealing it with rubber/plastic spray. It will stop the wood from getting wet, easier to clean and looks alot better than beat up old wood! lol I just finished putting the second coat on her cage. All is left is to put the screening on, wait for the 1 screen double doors/2 solid doors for bottom to be made by my brother-n-law and set up drainage when hubby comes home. I hope it is a good size for her. It measures 30x(wide)18x(deep)36x(high). It will dry out for about a week to make sure all fumes etc are gone. Then wash with soap and water. Here are two pictures of it drying. Please tell me what you guys/gals think.

That looks fantastic! What is the rubber/sealer spray that you speak of? Has anyone used it before without negative results?

That looks fabulous! I love renovating old cabinets for enclosures. I scored a nice wardrobe for $8.00 gutted it and put a shelf in the middle for two cages and now house two bearded dragons. Love doing stuff like that. I is going to look like a mansion when you are finished!

I like that you're keeping the Sri Lanka foam background. I'm excited to see how you incorporate plants around it.
Cheers! :D

Yes, I really liked the foam background that was in the exo terra. I will be adding some other colors to it. One of my hobbies is to draw/paint. When I draw or paint it feels like my stress is going into the painting. Thinking of the options on the live decore :p Just wish my hubby would hurry home. He is doing the screening.

Painting while waiting on hubby

While waiting for my husband to come home from work. I figured I would try to do something on Milly's enclosure we are working on. I decided to add color to the foam picture I added to her background. Here is a few pictures as the progress goes. I have been painting all day. Coat after coat, layer over layers. My feet are hurting alot from standing for so many hours in one spot. lmao. It is still in the works. I have alot of painting left to do on it. Where ever you see black around the person it will be painted in assorted colors. Please tell me what you think of the work so far. Thank you.

Update

We have been working on Milly's enclosure for some time now. We picked up the doors from the cabinet shop the other day. All we have left to do is put the bottom doors on and attach the handles. The left screen door looks off because it is open a little. We going to add magnets to keep them closed. The drainage is set to go into a bucket hideing behind the bottom doors. I will be doing some art work on the frames and solid doors later today. We have her camelia plant to the left with her golden pothos plant to the right. My husband weaved as much vines as he could to be more secure for Millys climbing. I think it came out pretty well. Considering she was in a 18x18x24 Exo Terra. The new enclosure is 30(w)x18(d)x36(h). She has lots of moving room. Milly is sure enjoying it.:D
