Milton sterilising fluid?

Hi guys! Quick question, is Milton fluid pok to sterelise silkworm tubs and other cham related objects?

I figure, it's safe for brand new babies so why not? I'm getting a bit fed up of boiling kettle after kettle of water to sterilise tubs every time a new batch of worms comes in!

Just in case you've not heard of it, it's liquid you add to water to sterilise baby bottles etc. it's probably got other names and brands around the world

I used rubbing alcohol or some hydrogen peroxide when I needed to really clean them out. I don't know what the product you are asking about is, so I can't comment on it.

I use diluted chlorohexadine for tools like forceps, speculums, water dishes, etc..or diluted bleach in water for cages trays.

Not familiar with that product, but sounds interesting.

Oh, I've used chlorhexidine too. I haven't in a while, but I really liked it. It's a great cleaner and it's even used in the wounds of dogs/horses/etc. so it's pretty safe as far as animals go (when diluted! It usually comes in an undiluted form so be sure to do that!)

Thanks for your replies guys It's just stuff for babies like you use it instead of steam sterilising your baby bottles and dummies etc. I'd rather not use harsh chemicals for the silkies, if boiled water can clean things up enough for them. The tubs are not in need of a huge clean, not dirty or anything. Just need to be sterile for the little silkies

I would say Milton should be ok. What you using ? Liquid or tablets?

Oh, if it makes you feel any better, chlorhexidine is also used in human dental products like mouthwash, and human soaps that can be used for babies I believe.

I got the liquid Kate. The active ingredient is sodium hypochlorite? Think I'll give it a whirl!
