well i set the sunray up on the free range today...
minion is tenured here at the ballard institute of chams.
so he got first crack, i placed him away from the lamp
and he climbed over as close to it as he could(12 inches)
and is basking for more than 30 minutes at this point:D

also i have to say it is a very "white" light.

Dom could you share the specs of your sunday (wattage, temp at 12", UVB reading if you have a UVB reader? Light output (satisfactory, excellent, poor, etc.). Really want to invest in a couple but I'm hesitant because of the prices. From what I've seen, it looks to be getting fairly good reviews.

mikhail

mikhail takes a turn...
once these guys find their spot they appear very content:D
it is my first day so temper my enthusiasm:eek:

reptigeek...
70 watts
88 at 12 inches
i arranged my manzanita so they can bask anywhere from12 - 30 inches as i do have some montane chams.
excellent but concentrated light output.
if i didn't have arcadia already i would be tempted to switch my 4 cages:eek:

That's my only problem with the SunRay, the concentrated light. I wish it wasn't such a tight beam! That being said, the colour/brightness of the light from photos that I have seen are very appealing. I'm also a fan of the actual BULB price. Much better than the Solarglo and Powersun. Just trying to wait until someone gets the stinkin' UVB readings!
Thanks for the info though!

k mats

now matie on the range

You are making me one to get these lights now! Just got the Arcadia T5 HO for the cages, but these might come in handy for the free ranges. Ugh, I wish the initial set up wasn't so expensive.

Ugh so true. And then you realize that one isn't enough so you keep getting more chameleons which means more setups and more money.

i was killing time on ebay:eek:

found the 50 watt for 149.99
not that bad really, arcadia set up is what like 120?

Yes you make a good point (thought I'm canadian and the lowest price for Canadian prices was $199.99 or ship from america $55 shipping fee). But I am a huge fan of 1 bulb for everything needed at the relaxing price of 39.99 - 49.99$. Just really want to know how long the UVB output lasts for, 10uW and above. Does Exo Terra have a "recommended change date" for these ones?
