If I get a cool mist humidifier should get a mist king. I wanted to get the mist iing for drinking water and the humidifier for humidity. Also I have a little dripper tell me what I need and dont. My humidity level after I mist is about 78 then drops to about 36 in a hour and half dont no what to do.i was planning to have the humidifier go off and on throughout yhe day

If you have a mist king, you will NOT have to worry about humidity.

Chameleons don't need CONSTANT humidity, but periods of time where it's humid. This is why you get a misting system, so that

1) it creates rain/mist to stimulate cham to drink

2) puts dew on the leaves for cham to actually drink

3) boosts humidity and somewhat waters your plants

you will need dry periods and wet periods, not wet all the time. There is a misconception about more common chameleons (panthers, veileds) that they need 60-80% humidity constantly, which they don't.

I would stick with either the humidifier OR the mistking (mistking is way better ;)) because if you keep them TOO wet, they might get URI

I disagree. I have and use both every day. i use the mistking for drinking water and plants. I use the humidifier to up the humidity levels. Part of the determination is based on how your cham is set up and part on conditions where you live.

If you can only get one of the two I would get the mistking, but you can get a cheap humidifier at target for about $40 that will do the job nicely.

Ah sorry, my cage has plastic all around the sides and it's usually pretty humid already, so that's my problem!

Sorry for the misconceptions, my humidity gauge says it's good humidity most of the day for misting but it goes down, I feel like I'm using way too much humidity if I'd have a fogger.

So I guess it's personal preference, too?

The best would be a screen cage. With humidifier in the room a few feet away from cage . You would really be set then if you got a mist king. Till then just hand mist

Yes it is all what each of us decide to do. If you live in most of Florida, I doubt you would ever need a humidifier, here in Montana, where our humidity is so low, if I used my mistking to keep humidity up, my cages would never dry out. You gave good advice, for where you are, but a lot of us - yes - me:( too, forget we are talking to people all over the world.

I have a mist king and also modified a cool mist humidifier with tubing to direct it into my jacksons cage. I prefer to use both. It does also help keep the room humidity up for my other cages as well.
