Hey guys so i got the mistking starter kit, easy setup great system.... when it works.. it will kick on (using the mist king timer) and the motor will run but no water comes out. also i have the zip drip in it as well im wondering if any one else has had this problem..... if i take the hose off just before the misting nozzle the water will shoot out but then i plug it back in quick to the nozzle and it will work....but if i dont pull the hose out and re connect it doesnt spray any water what so ever... some times it will just drip. but the point of geting this system was so i wouldnt have to be home all the time to water him...... any suggestions to get it to work.? could it be nozzle problems... i let the system run for 10 min straight with out the nozzle connected before adding the nozzle to the hose as reccomended.... please help. thanks guys

try getting water into your lines first, make sure you have the pump primed with a little water within.

it'll take a few minutes to get water going through the lines.
i didn't attach the mist nozzle till i had water coming out of the hose line.

it works when i take the line out of the nozzle RIGHT AWAY so the water is there but the nozzle part seems to be the culprate....

also i rechecked them all the nozzle is at the top about 5 foot 5 off the floor the pump is about 3 feet off the floor is that ok i have seen people with the reseviour way lower then cages.

Could you take a picture of it? I'm not an expert but I'm sure pictures would help.

yeah forsure here ya go thats the side of the enclosure it was vertical and i re ran the lines also the reseviour is under that table.

positioning of the pump can affect it. i did notice when i turned mine a certain direction the water stopped.

*i have herpmist though* same thing practically.

Ours does the same thing occasionally, although we have a herpmist. Sounds like you are getting air in the lines. Try to bring the reservoir closer to the pump with as little line running in between as possible. This should help prevent water from running back into the reservoir and leaving air in the lines.

i didnt get a zip drip since its a waste of money with chams. you want dripping water, and the lines only drip like 4 times. mine works as long as im not out of water lol

Mist King + Problems? No way! LOL

I have never had an issue with mine and I'm running well over 20 nozzles. Because I'm using 1/2" PVC plumbing, if the water is drained from the pipes, it may take all of 10 seconds to have water coming through all of the nozzles.

I'm sure if you email [email protected] he will help you out.

This might be another direction to take. I bet with the valve open (when system is off) the water will leave the lines and you are having to prime the pump every time you mist. This would cause a delay and be an even longer delay if your pump is high above the tank.

check out the link I provided and look at how Marty said the valve could be hooked up.

just opened my mist king and i am so friggin confused already!!!

So there is suppose to be a piece that goes into the reservoir , but mine came in as one unit all attached and i cannot get the one pice apart or away from the misting part to put it into the reservoir, any quick ideas of what im doing wrong??

Mary, I'm on top of your emails and will call you as soon as I put the 3 year old to bed for a nap. You don't need to disassemble the misting nozzles to get the bulkhead. There should have been a bulkhead and a o-ring included with your kit. Stay put, I will call you shortly.

Mist king and Marty are the BEST!

After hearing all the good things about the mist king system and not knowing anything about misting systems in general, as I have always lovingly hand misted my chameleons in the past.
Marty basically took a great deal of his time and patients to lead me through the set up process, as I have a learning/reading disability and could not for the life of me figure out how my new mist king went together, let alone worked.
Even with his hands full of screaming children and I'm sure a very hard working wife, he somehow managed to make the time to get my system set up and working properly and I only broke one piece, with the help of a Vice and my very short temper LOL.
He made time to email me , call me or text me to make sure I did things right. He is obviously a very devoted person who believes in his misting system , so kudos to you marty! For the more normal minded people out there, its really easy to set up. But as said I needed someone to verbally walk me through it and he did just that!! God bless you Marty and you're family. you're a true lifesaver!! And guess what? No more sore hands from misting continuously!! and no leaks!! Just a wonderful fine mist, now to try and figure out the timer ooooooh. nooooooooo.LOL,
Anyone else out there willing to help a dingbat? Feel free to email me on the setting up of the timers. thanks!! Poor Marty needs a break from me, and I shood him back to his family. Good people! lol

Thanks for the feedback Mary. They weren't really screaming that much :) It was a little hectic Sunday.

I had a problem like this with one nozzle before when setting up a system. I removed the nozzle and flushed it out with water as best I could. That did the trick.

I suspect that a fleck of something was blocking the nozzle.
