Mister advice

I installed my mist king system and its great. Only thing I didnt realize when putting it in is that it sprays about 2 inches from his basking spot. He really hates the spray and runs like crazy when it goes off. Should I consider patching the hole and moving it to the other side of the cage or just let him get used to it?

why not just change the basking spot instead so that you dont have to patch any holes?

You should post a pic of the setup, but it really shouldnt be much of an issue.

You could try just re-aiming the nozzle a bit.

This is a picture of my nozzle placement. I can't move it too far left, right, up or down cause it will spray out of the cage.

Since my first post I have moved my UVB light to the back of the cage and moved both basking lights to the front. Hoping he will figure it out and move to the new spot.

Feel so bad. Got him like 36 hours ago and hes supposed to be settling in. But I had to install a quick drainage system today, rearrange the plants a little and move the lighting. Hope he doesnt get too stressed out!

I'm a new chameleon owner so I am a bit paranoid I am going to do something wrong as well!

You can also remove the nozzle, and connect some extra line were the nozzle was, nozzle on the end of the inide line, then secure the nozzle by clipping the hose its on to the inside edge of the caging.

Doesnt look too bad. Relax for now, hell still settle in.

You might add some vertical branches here and there.

Fresh cut, from a sapless, smooth barked tree is fine.
Just inspect for mites or molds first.

A little water hitting him near the basking area isnt necessarily a bad thing.
You dont want it right in his face everytime it comes on though no.

Thanks Snake. I will add some vertical branches and then I think that is me leaving the cage alone.

Thanks for the advice everyone.

Don't feel bad. I bet every one of us has changed our set ups 100 times before we figured out what really worked. The chameleons adjust quite well, assuming they were healthy to begin with.

I changed his basking spot as was recommended yesterday. Also ordered a dripper as I am afraid he isnt drinking with just the mister.

Hopefully I will see the little guy drink after I install it tomorrow.

Thanks for all the advice.
