MistKing Hygrostat Controller HT-24 Reviews???

Getting a MistKing very soon - wondering if anyone has had experience with the MistKing Hygrostat Controller HT-24? I see there are three options available - Recent proud papa of a new Panther Chameleon. I have a 18"x18"x4' enclosure - expanding to a larger enclosure (4'x8'x30") by next spring when "Clyde" will be around 10 months old.

Wondering if the Hygrostat Controller is worth it in helping to regulate humidity - live in the Coastal Mid-Atlantic so humidity generally not an issue especially in summer months but enclosure will be inside.

Thoughts or reviews?

Thanks -

The standard timer is perfect, no need for that! I had the same question when I bought mine, I totally understand why you are usually recommend just the timer.

The little probe is one area, limits you to a narrow window of readings on the hygrometer

I have also heard of them malfunctioning.

Cost more money.

My vote is no.

My inclination was / is leaning toward that same assessment but I was curious to see if anyone had used them. Believe I'll go with the standard timer but I am going to get the ultimate value package - I like the sound of no drip!

The reason you don't want it is because you can't set misting times and durations. It just mists until desired humidity is reached. This is nice if you have a set up where humidity is more important than the actual mist. Like many amphibians.

I didn't like it. It sounded good but it ended up kicking on way too much. I flooded some of my planted cages and had to suck out tons water. After a bunch of adjusting it worked ok but defeated the purpose. The seconds timer works way better.

I've started just buying all the climist parts and am so far very happy with his products and will continue to buy from him.
