Mistking pump unpriming

Hello everyone,

I bought a mistking system about 2 months ago and the pump now seems to unprime. I prime it when I hear the squeeky sound. The next time it turns on it seems okay for 1-2 min but then it gets unprimed again.

Any help?

Thanks!

Make sure all connections are pressed in all the way. I've had several cases where the tubing on the pump isn't pushed in all the way and air gets sucked in. (you really have to press it in hard)

disconnect the tubing at the nozzles, let the water run for a bit, then plug the nozzles in.

The word "cavitation" comes to mind.

cav⋅i⋅ta⋅tion
/ˌkævɪˈteɪʃən/ Show Spelled Pronunciation [kav-i-tey-shuhn] Show IPA Pronunciation
–noun
1. the rapid formation and collapse of vapor pockets in a flowing liquid in regions of very low pressure, a frequent cause of structural damage to propellers, pumps, etc.
2. such a pocket formed in a flowing liquid.

Thanks for the input.

I believe cavitation is true only for pumps with impellers. This one comes with a diaphragm, piston and check valves.

Not too sure.

Are your tubing cuts 90 degrees? inserted all the way? can hear a leak in the line when your pump is running? (put your ear on the connections)>

Good luck

Howdy,

Like Marty says, connections are usually the culprit. It is amazing how hard it is to put the tubing all the way into the fittings. A tiny bit of oil or sometimes just a having the outside of the tubing wet will help quite a bit in getting the tubing to slide all the way.

I was thinking later on today after my post... could you be missing the collar that holds the hose in place on the suction side? If it were the pressure side it would be pretty obvious... but not so on the suction side.

(this is a spare part.... with some coffee or.... I dunno what that stuff is on it...?!?!)

You got me on that one Sumonner12! We learn smth new everyday! Thx for the links.

Everything seems to be in place. I do own a tee like the one shown but I don't use it as of now. I took every connection apart and reassembled them. The pump seems to keep its prime.
