I have learned my lesson dont ever and I mean ever by this Cheap Crappy product EVER ! This is my second one, I have had it for a week. I didnt fill it up in the pour in spout because I have read many of times Exo Terra did a crappy job of sealing the rings and water gets into the main circuits, and itll short the whole system out and it will be garbage. Well I have followed all the rules and tricks as far as keeping the systen running. And my system broke again outta now where its brand new I only had it for about 2 weeks or so. I will NEVER buy this ever again and I wanna spread the word to anyone whos looking into buy this CRAPPY MADE SYSTEM do NOT waste your money. I am now looking into the Mist King system, I hope this works a lot better !

lol a funny letter sent to exo terra on the web site and the facebook page. the only thing about this that isnt true is me being a high ranking member of this page haha all other information is so dead on accurate its not even funny lol lets see what kinda response i get......

Dear Exo Terra your Monsoon RS 400 mist system SUCKS. I have bought 2 systems from your company and When the first one broke I didnt hear back from your " support team " so I went out and bought another one. And I have read that the sealrings you installed are cheaper than a Thai hooker that your not even sure if its a man or not, the seals leak into the top on the machine and shorts out the system. So on my new one I didnt use the fill spout and I kept it dry and clean and shut it off every night. The "New" system I bought last week and I put the " " over new because this one broke on me as well it worked for about a week or so and now sprays every 6 mins for 1 min. When I have it set for every 2 hours for 1 min. Exo Terra I am spreading the word that your system sucks. And to not wate the money. I am posting links from amazon from other who have experienced the same problems I have. And other sites on all the forums that I am a member to and a high ranking member at that. Dart Frog forums , Chameleon Forums , Carnivorous Plant Forums and a few others I cant name off the top of my head your product is a waste of money and time !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Unless you send me a free system I will continue spreading the word. :D:D:D:D:D:D:D

no whats low is they sell a system that they know needs to be recalled and they wont recall it. the system is poorly designed and fails after a few weeks to a month or so. thats low and the support team they say they have sucks as well i wrote them a while agao about my system crapping out on me and they NEVER GOT BACK

i’m confused….i’ve always paid very high prices for Thai hookers, and you claim they’re inexpensive?

I purchased my monsoon about a year and a half ago, funny thing was it was on sale! And second thing that's funny is that it's still running flawlessly!!! Never any problems, not even with calcium buildup on the nozzles. I must be the only one on this planet that has a working monsoon

If you read the forums that your a part maybe you would have learned that this system is hit and miss. I have no clue why you would buy a second one. Aqua zamp is worth it which you already paid with buying two systems. I am sure the company really cares since you gave them money twice. I don't own a misting system yet but I know when I get one it will most likely be aqua zamp or mistking.

I've had one for about a year now still works fine, besides the fact that the nosseles get plugged up really easy. I mean it's no mist king but I haven't been to disappointed. A LOT of people on here seem to have had bad luck with them though.

I don't get it. Maybe its advertising. Why would you spend $100 or more for a misting system that has very few features and pretty poor upgradability vs a system costing essentially the same with many more options and better upgradability.

Monsoon can hold 1 gallon of water. Mistking can hold as much as you want. Attach it to a 5 gal bucket, or an R.O. system

Monsoon is upgradable to 6 nozzles and Mistking to 10

Monsoon has ability to mist from 2 seconds to 120. Mistking from 1 sec to 24hrs

Monsoon doesn't let you program in variations.

Mistking allows for 8 completely different misting times/durations and also can be set to mist on specific days of the week.

Mistking can also be integrated into vivarium controllers using 12volt relays for even more specialized programming options.

Mistking has very easily replaceable parts and OUTSTANDING customer service

Monsoon... Not so much.

Mistking 2 year parts/pump warranty not including nozzles 1 year timer.

Monsoon Can't find this information

Why spend $100 on a questionable product when you can have one that is truly trustworthy.

Unfortunately Mistking doesn't have an option for a remote control.

i dont know where the op lives but in the uk mistking has only become available in the last few months. I too bought a monsoon a year ago and after a couple of weeks the timer failed. I returned it and received a replacement, same thing happened. As a believer of third time lucky i sent it back and received another faulty one. I kept it going till i received my mistking six weeks later and i have never had a problem with it.:)

I think ExoTerra deserves all the disdain they get over this product, the nastier the better. It is the height of corporate incompetance that this product is still out there failing left and right.

I work in the purchasing field and my job is to travel internationally and inspect factories that make consumer products. If the factory making this product had any type of testing procedure on it's timer components this would not be an issue.

If ExoTerra made any effort to gather feedback about the performance of this product these seemingly simple problems would have been addressed ages ago.

This is simply a case of a company that doesn't care, and puts me off buying any of their other products.

Wow. Pretty rough. I always support trying to be tactful when you're trying to get something accomplished. More than likely, the higher ups that be at Monsoon will just pass this around for a good laugh. You already went through two of their products and you're demanding a 3rd.

From my experience threats dont always get the best response....IMO Mistking all the way.

Completely agree...

I just died. Hi-larious! :D

I have heard they are like melleri...a lot more expensive if they are positively gender identified.

I thought I was dead from laughing, but I just resurrected and died all over again! Genius!! :D :D

IMHO, one of the best ways to have your complaint ignored is to insult them, include what some may consider a racial slur, and not even check your grammar or spelling. Not the impression you wanted and their opinion of the character of herp owners just dropped a bit lower.
