Moringa leave - possible gutload?

I am always researching the art of gutloading! I truely believe that one of the main items that contributes to chameleon health and longevity lies in the art of gutloading! I also found for myself that for my own personal human body gutloading affects how I feel quite dramatically! In my search regarding my own body, I wondered upon the Super food Moringa Oleifera! The leaves are an storehouse loaded with nutrients!

I was wondering if anyone here on the forums have ever tried it as a gutload and what all our gutload experts here on the forums think of the possibility of us starting to use it as a gutload!

Everyone join in and let's figure this out! Feedback craved!

Thanks for your time!

I just use organic vegetable from like a Whole Foods. And then I get that Cricket crack stuff. From time to time I don't know how serious other people do it. But when I get my order crickets I always make sure they're eating for over a week before I feed to mine. Sometimes you just don't know what they're feeding them

Thanks @Link all good ideas, but variety is soooo important for health! I am always looking for more fruits and vegetables to add to my gutload! This thread was actually started with one specific potential gutload item and only that item in mind: MORINGA OLEIFERA!

The calcium to phosphorus ratio isn't great. Doesn't mean it's bad, but would have to be used occasionally and the ca/p ratio made up elsewhere.

Here are some interesting stuff I found about Moringa leave powder.
  • 9 times the protein of yogurt
  • 10 times the vitamin A of carrots
  • 15 times the potassium of bananas
  • 17 times the calcium of milk
  • 12 times the vitamin C of oranges
  • 25 times the iron of spinach
Also, 30 grams of powder contains 601mg of calcium and 61.2mg of phosphorus. That is realy not a bad ratio, nearly 10/1!

Real good ratio I can really only find about iguanas having it. But I've seen that other people do feed it do chameleons and feeders

I was introduced to Moringa and it's be if it's in 2010. Boy was I excited to see it for sale in powder form at our local "Grocery Outlet". And suddenly the chameleon related benefits crossed my mind. Hence this thread!
