Mounting pots in glass viv

What should I use to mount my pots. I’m going to mount a few plants to the styrofoam background, but what should I use? Would superglue be bad? It says use in a ventilated area so I would just leaving the doors open for a while work? I’m not even sure if the foam would be able to support the weight of the pot. To clarify, it’s the foam that comes with the exo terra enclosures.

I can think of two options. You could make your own background using spray foam. Here is my build where I made my Exo Terra into a bio active setup.

The other option that I can think of is. You could wire the pot to the foam sort of the way that users are attaching pots to the dragon stand ledges. You might have to put some type of bracket behind the foam so that the wire doesn't rip through the two holes and comes out.

Here's a method I've used in ponds and aquariums over the last several years- thought I'd go ahead and try it on styrofoam backgrounds, too, since I've thought about doing so in the past! Just an old wire hanger, and extra pot, and a pair of pliers.

Straighten the hanger, make a U through two drainage holes, make a bend at the top of the pot and stick the two ends through the background. Bend them to the side to distribute weight & anchor it in, then drop a plant in! The foam holds pretty well as long as the weight isn't focused in one spot (I haven't tested it with anything over a 4", though). You'd want to silicone the background to the glass, though, because the plants will pull it forward.

Hope this gives you some ideas :)

Thank you so much. I’ll definitely try this!

I'm of the opinion that whatever method is used, any pot should be readily removable & replaceable without tearing the whole enclosure down (and disrupting the occupant too much) in the event the plant, soil, or pot need replacing. ?
