Mushrooms growing in my Schefflera?

Red is a warning color. If they have little white spots, then congrats, you somehow cultured fly amanita aka fly agaric aka amanita muscaria

If that is in fact what it is, you need to be very careful when removing it. Don't touch with your bare hands and seal it in a plastic bag and throw it away so that spores cannot go free. It is a neat and very beautiful mushroom, but also toxic and psychoactive.

Alright Kenya here is two pictures I took with my Iphone. As you can see the shrooms are growing from the opening on the bottom of the base. I have a plastic shield so the water doesn't leak and sometimes it feels up with water.

Very hard to tell from that; Tricholomopsis rutilans ("plums and custard") is one potential option, and there are some Gymnopilus species that look like that (a Google image search will yield pictures for comparison. The Tricholomopsis has white spores, while Gymnopilus would have brownish - but for most mushrooms, including this, its next to impossible to give a 100% identification based on a photo. These are just some guesses. Some Gymnopilus are hallucinogens, but the red and yellow ones are pretty poorly characterized. Yours is not a lethal species (it can be easier to positively say what something is not than what it is, but it probably is best to repot.

Oh man, those are adorable little mushies! Be careful- red is a warning color. I have no clue what they are...I only know about certain types and am not very good at ID'ing wilds.

I think i'm just going to toss the whole plant in the trash. It was only used for when they were out of their cages.

Sancho,

I'm currently having this exact some problem with my Sheffeala or whatever it is, I don't know what to do. New ones pop up every day and they are gone by the morning but there are new ones. I started picking them out but they keep growing. I'm thinking about just trashing mine to not only because of the mushrooms but the actual cage reeks from something and i can't figure it out... I'm starting to think it's the soil I replanted it with. Now that it's just about spring time I'll be able to find a nice 4 foot ficus around here.

Just my thoughts

Yeah I know what you mean best thing is to toss it. The spores will just keep them going. I'm going to look for a fake ficus since it's only used for them to hang out on.
