Music!

New slipknot cd is awesome(all hope is gone) Metallica, Inflames, Pantera, Dragonforce, Bad Religion, Social Distortion, H.I.M...I LOVE ALL MUSIC THOUGH...

From Oldies to Hardcore / Metal! ...But metal/punk is by far my most favorite :D

I thought you might like it;) They are pretty cool guys too. THe drummers brother used to drum for one of the old bands I was in. These guys will put you in a trance when playing live! It seems there is and has been a lot of music like this come from Maryland and other parts around here. I hear we definatly have a good scene for the prog stuff. Too bad its not so big on the music I play though.

We are trying to get a guy that did a recording for Final Redemption (on our top friends) but he is on hiatus:( Hes really cheap but really good. Check out aberrancy, I did a guest solo for that song. We are trying to get the guy to just record us but we may have to find someone else. We will see. We have a show tonight with The wretched and With in the ruin. Both on Virctory records. Maybe they will want to record us;) Ill keep you posted.

Sandra!!! I can get down to some of those bands:D Especially Satriani. I grew up listening to classic rock.

Victory records? That is a pretty damn big deal. Everybody likes listening to a split, at least I know I do! I love the free flow of a live show, but listening to a tight studio recorded release showcasing the best of the band is always great.

I just started getting into alot of prog rock, it is totally entrancing. I grew up in the phoenix hardcore punk and thrash scene, but find myself looking at alot more mellow stuff now too as I grow. I found that all the good prog rock bands seem to be out of east coast and like northern UK. You are lucky to be living on that side of town, as much as I love LBC, the local underground so cal music scene isn't really to my tastes.

Sandra it's safe to say everyone loves those bands, I doubt many were mentioned cause it's essential timeless music at this point. And if anyone doesn't like classic rock, then they just don't know how to hang!

If it ain't thrash, it's trash.
If it's not punk, it's junk.

Just kidding I like everything. Classic rock guitar virtuosos, thrashcore, hip hop.

Right now my big kick is progressive rock and prog metal, without lyrics though. At this moment in time I seem to love any music without vox.

Love it!! Fave band is Goldfinger.. Has been for 15 years now. Hubby listens to Lamb Of God and all that vomit music.

I think someone else started a topic like this, but I think it was for a more specif band but morphed into a general music topic...

vomit music  psh

metal reminds me of a huge epic war. its beautiful. Although i can do without screaming with most metal bands. Sometimes it's just annoying and takes away from the music.

LOL.. Yea, the singers sound like they are throwing up.. I can never understand a word they are saying..are they even saying words?

Hubby says he likes the bass and rhythm they have..Shrug.. I like to be able to understand what the heck the song is about..

Dont get me wrong, I LOVE In this moment and flyleaf which i consider metal.

I used to love flyleaf!!!

I bet you'd like metal bands like Killswitch Engage and All That Remains. Mainly singing. Lamb of God is a required taste. Im almost certain every metalhead likes the music and tolerates the screaming because most are musicians themselves and know the talent in guitar playing, drumming etc it takes to achieve such heavy sh!t ::cool:: I play electric guitar and one of my favorite bands are Meshuggah: lots of screaming but oh my god their guitar playing is epic!! However some bands have it work to their advantage.

NICE:D Im not much for Lamb of God but the new album is definatly the best one yet I think.

I tend to go in phases where I will play something out then go to the next and then come back. Right now I have been listening to a lot of Death (Individual thought patterns and after), Anata (all albums), Arsis (all albums), Im digging the new Cannibal Corpse and Deicide albums also:eek:

I think American Gospel is my fav...I love 11th hour that song is just bada$$.

April 2 im going to see Exodus !!!! Then later that month Testament !!! Thrash legends in my backyard....

Side note: I like The Killers and Clutch too !!! I have a huge range I listen too.

Ive been playing guitar for around 17 years and im currently in a cover band that plays stinky bars every weekend....im playing bass with them for now.

If you have the chance, go to www.pandora.com and put in your favorite band. You can find some great stuff there.

I'm more of a singer, my pinky doesn't work the way I want to to for guitars (or guitar hero for that matter LOL!)

I'm loving Alison Krausse now. Zeppelin, Stones, G&R...some more recent rock.

Robert Plant and Alison Krausse's album was great - bluegrassish wiht folk music and some rock type stuff. Saw them in live. Nothing like bluegrass versions of zeppelin songs.

I like bluegrass, but hate most country. I'm in the south, but from NJ - can only go so far.

Chamsitter, unfortunatly that show was cancled right before we where about to start heading down the road an hour and a half to Baltimore:( Something about the venue. We will have more chances though. The guy that puts the bigger metal shows on really likes our stuff. He just had Vital Remains and Deicide play at the same venue last saturday.

I was into punk rock in my highschool years. Stuff like fat, epitaph, nitro, etc. records. Of course I have always liked old Megadeth and Metallica but I started getting more into the real heavy fast tech stuff when I started playing guitar more seriously.

Greg, those shows sound great! That should be a hell of a time:D Clutch is from around my area. Most of the members are in a side project called The Bakerton Group. Im sure they have a myspace:rolleyes:

Jason, nice guitars! I am more of a Jackson and Schecter guy. I traded 2 Jackson dinkys and an oldschool Charvell for the Schecter hellraiser I have now. It really is the nicest guitar I have ever played. Its got a real Floyd Rose tremelo so you can crank on that thing and it doesnt go out of tune. Also its all neck thru with EMG pick ups for MEGA CRUNCH AND SUSTAIN!!:D Definatly the perfect guitar for metal! This is a pic of me and my woman at our last show. www.myspace.com/revilementmetal
