My Chameleon doesnt drink from the dripper, he would rather drink from the mister

Hi Everyone, it has been a long time since I have posted anything to the forum.
My 6 month old Blue Nosy Be "Diego" is doing awesome!
He is so sociable, he would rather be out of his cage socializing. My only concern with him is he would rather drink from the mister bottle that we hold than the dripper in his cage, I have seen him drink off the foliage the odd time but likes the mister.. any suggestions on getting him away from this habit ???... I know it is cute but it does get tiresome

The panthers I have owned, seemed to prefer drinking from a heavy long misting session over a dripper.

Think of the dripper as a supplement to misting. Misting is the main source of water, dripping is just like a snack just in case.

He doesn't even like misting, he would rather be hand fed water... here is my thought maybe use a hamster water feeder with the ball thingy... get him use to that and then place it in his cage...

If he like hand fed water that's ok. The important think is that he's drinking.

Well keep misting for humidity at least, whether he likes it or not. Plus it'll give him dew to lap up later if he wants to. Which you already said he likes to do.

As far as the hamster dripper goes, I would just stick with what works. If he currently likes the dripper, and uses it regularly, awesome. Keep it going for when you aren't there to handwater. If it ain't broke, don't fix it

Awesome attitude! Yeah, like Jann said, just be happy hes drinking in front of you at all. You'd be surprised what a challenge that can be for some chameleons. Most are pretty shy.

Thaxter recently decided, after 3.5 years, that he likes drinking from the dripper - so I wouldn't discontinue it. The important thing is that he's well hydrated.
