well she was doing real good no probs in awhile then one day she neglected her crickets there in her cage but wont eat them so i gave her some calc with d3 1 time this month with wax worms she ate those and now im worried sum might be wrong her arms look kind of bony then i remember but she is drinking lots of water and just shedded her skin she is a jackson btw

Can you pleasepost a recent photo and answer the questions in the format in the how to ask for help thread in the Health forum?

I am pretty sure you need to dust your feeder bugs with calcium (no D3) at least 2-3 times weekly. Once a month won't be enough. Do you feed a variety of different feeders (meal worms, crickets etc.)? Do you give a multivitamin?

Its hard to say without more detail, but it sounds like food boredom. You should provide a variety of feeders in addition to crickets.

I would suggest hornworms, silkworms, or blue bottle flys as a great way to break food boredom or a hunger strike.

Good luck!

i have seen her eat mealworms but theyre not good to feed her right i mean i gave her 2 and she ate them but no crickets and my petstore only has meal worms super meal worms and crickets no locusts or anything

There is, ironically, an article about this in the newest issue of the Chameleons eZine http://www.Chameleonnews.com/12NovStrandWeight.html
This will help you know when to be worried and when not.

But for a forum based analysis, find a way to post some pictures of the chameleon, the set-up, and your feeding/supplementation schedule. I know that is a lot of work, but chameleons are a very complicated organism and many factors could contribute to a hunger strike from lighting to boredom to stress to having a bad day (daddy, the cat won't stop staring at me!!!).
