My chameleon is grey, why!?

My chameleon is in a glass tank, but I am soon going to move him to a screen cage. Every time I see my chameleon right under his basking bulb, he is grey. Out of worry, I take him out to interact with him(he doesn't mind being handled), but then he turns green sometimes even bright green when he is out. His temp is 86'F with an average of 55% humidity. He has PLENTY of fake leaves and he has a tropical 25 UVB T8 fluorescent bulb right on top of him along with a 60 watt UVA basking bulb. He is a male and a Veiled Chameleon. I'm not too sure of his age but he is around 6 inches long including its tail. I feed him crickets daily in the am with calcium without vitamin D3. I gut load my crickets with oranges that I peel myself and fortified calcium gel/water. Please help asap.

This is a picture from the past(about 2 weeks ago). He is completely done shedding, and he still turns grey every time he is under the light.
