Current Problem - My chameleon jacksoinii, male, 3 years old, all of a suden start to close his eyes, getting thin, his eyes are close, he do not eat, he do not drink, in his pooh is red blood,
Today the doctor find out that he got yeast cells in his cloaca
Blackyna, didn't the vet give you medicine to get rid of the parasites?
Have you been giving him fluids (gatorade or pedialyte diluted with water)?
If you have been giving him Gatorade that is red, maybe that is what is red in his poo, now.
Yes, but today and it is yellow, but it is blood the red, the doctor told me, his pooph is full of blood :-( I really dont know what to do, he got also antibiotics
Hopefully, he is receiving antibiotics and antiparasitic medicine.
Parasites can be causing the bleeding and I believe that an infection can also cause the bleeding.
The most important things are giving him his medicines and making sure he is getting enough water to drink.
You can also increase the basking temperature by about 3 degrees Celsius/5 degrees Fahrenheit.
It is also good to review his care and be certain that everything else is correct.
Hi, yes I really hope It can help him, please do you know after how many days I can see any results from antibiotics? If the doctor gave hom teo types of medicine I hope It has no contradiction?and please about blood ofcourse I dont know hom much blood it is, but accirding to my opinion it is a lot of blood :-(
This pooph is from today, part is with the blood, and it seems that he is not digesting the crickets, I have to feed him he is not eating on his own, I hope the medicine can help to him
I haven't read the whole thread but if it hasn't been mentioned before you could give him bug juice. Take your crickets and some supplement and blend them down. Strain it and give with eye dropper or syringe. It will be easier for him to digest with legs etc taken out. You will also be able to give him fluids that way too. Good luck.
I'm sorry if I missed it but do you have a UVB light for him? The top part of the info sheet was not filled out unless I'm missing it on one of the pages?
No at this time I have no UVB: Itried some bug juice now I I gave it to him, just it is so difficult to open his mouth, I am not using force, but still he got black marks on his mouth
Can I suggest you use his uv 12 hrs on 12 hrs off . if I understand you correctly you are not using on just now while he is sick? He will have bruising if you have to force feed but at this stage it is necessary. If I massage my ones mouth at the corners. He will open up. You could try gently opening it with the edge of a credit card.
