My Daytona Pics

Thanks guys. Just to clarify, the 2 parsonii that I brought home with me are not mine. They just came home with me until Mike can find homes for them for the seller (feel free to email Mike or I if you are interested in them). It simply gives me the opportunity to get some good pics and see if the older male likes my female.

There were a lot of things I didn't get to see that I wanted to but I was able to see enough that I was pleased with the trip.

Justin - Tyler didn't come this year but there was a fair bit of drinking in my room and at the bars. Not as big of a forum party as last year but it was fun.

Chris

Great photos as usual Chris. As I was reading your post, I was thinking " I bet Chris just tells everyone " But, they followed me home"! " :p

Adorable turtle, will you name it Spot? :p

You have way too much fun, are you sure you don't need an assistant?

Chris:

Great to see you again. Being busy is a good thing! Although I, too, didn't get a chance to see many of the wonderful things at this year's show....but I'm not complaining....it was my best show ever!.....and why weren't Darci and I invited to this "drinking in your room and at the bars"??...... And were you too good to come out with us after the auction? :D (you know I'm just kidding.....that's okay b/c we just ended up going to Coldstone anyway...) However, I did get a chance to hold the male parsons before I left...... they are awesome....

Amy, I have already claimed dibs on his "assistant" role.... don't even try it....:p

Stunning Pictures............

OMG your pictures are so well composed and sharply focused. I went to Daytona a few years ago. I've learned a lot since then and would appreciate the rarer things offered at Daytona more now than I did then. I hope to go next year again.

I like the way you phrased your comment about the drinking in your room Chris. You made it sound like you were removed from it all ;) When I went a few years ago I was with a group of people of various reptile interests. We stayed up all night outside of the hotel on the patio talking and drinking. The sun came up and we were all amazed that it was already morning. I went back to my hotel room, showered and went to the show again. What fun

Ahhhh, the good 'ole days.

Having put one of best friends through rehab for drinking we decided to cut it out of our lives as well and now we just live vicariously through everyone else's stories.

Thanks for all the nice comments about the pics, everyone! It was good seeing you all at the show as well!

Any idea who took the C. Globifer home?

He wasn't someone I knew but I spoke with him and would recognize him but don't remember his name off the top of my head.

If you guys be in know how Nick Mole gets those animals...

He gets them straight from Joe B. in Tanzania (the only person who can legally export many of the Tanzanian chameleon species.

Chris, are the globifer come from Europe?

Yes, it was brought over by the same company from France that had the parsonii.

Hey Chris. Great pics! You mean you aren't going to keep one of the parsonii for yourself? Laurie wanted to purchase one but they wouldn't take credit cards and she said that she doesn't carry that much cash around with her. She might be interested in getting one from Mike now though.

The larger of the two I brought home with me is already sold. Going to sell the little one too. I'm working on Mike though to hold onto the large male that went home with him and set up a breeding loan.

You have way too much fun, are you sure you don't need an assistant?

If I need and assistant or an assistant's assistant, Julie and you will be the first ones I call.

Hey Chris!! Great pics...i love the little spotted turtle. I really want one but maybe I'll get one at a show out here. It was great to see you again...we'll have to hang out more next time. You guys should come out to the Pomona show or something in January!! I think Mike's going to do that one so you and josh should come with! :)

This species of turtle is actually incredibly endangered and highly protected. It is listed on CITES Appendix I and is federally listed on the Endangered Species Act. Without a FWS Captive Breeder's Permit for this species, they can't be sold across state lines. If there is a breeder of this species in NV though, I can't recommend them enough, they are an amazing species.

I'd love to go to the Pomona show. I think this last year it fell on the same weekend as a conference I was giving a talk at. Hopefully it won't fall on the same weekend again this year...

Ha, I didn't see you guys on Friday night and on Saturday night you guys wanted to go spend the gift certificate you guys had. You would have been more then welcome to join in but I don't know that it would have held up to Coldstone.

Haha, I was hardly removed from it all. The Daytona show is really unlike any other show and to get the full experience, you really do need to stay at the Hilton. You definitely should come next year. Its great fun staying up all night chatting with everyone, even if the next day you find yourself hurting a little.

Really amazing chris, i am jealous at what you get to work with sometimes.

i wish there was a parsons there.

I got to see them (and hold them... he he he) but I'm still waiting for the report/reaction from them getting them in yesterday. I can tell you that they are all awesome finds..... including Chad's surprise gift. But I'll let her/him tell you about that. I don't want to spoil it! :D

Yeah, but we do need pictures!!

@Chris Anderson: He found the legal way to import Calumma born in captivity in Europe? or should have offspring of parents with a first cites 1995-1996?
