My Doggies

I have two dogs, Honey and Louie.

Honey is regal, the queen of the house, the protector, the jock, I swear when we let her in the back yard she runs laps and checks all the exits (although she may have just been trying escape, it's happened before :) ). She loves to play fetch, although she hasn't quite gotten down the bringing-back-the-ball part. She also loves attention, when you start scratching her and then stop, she will either grab your hand with her paw or shove her head into your hand until you start petting her again. She especially likes belly rubs, even more than she does treats:D. Honey is great with other dogs, but she loves people even more. She is the white/honey colored doggy. She is 2 and a half.

Louie-- don't even get me started. He is such a little goober. He is snuggly and sweet, his face is so adorable I melt every time I look at him. He's not as athletic as honey, but that doesn't stop him from trying to keep up with her. Louie likes to lick, play tug-of-war, cry at the bottom of the stairs, then push past the gate to come say hello, and he loves to chew on bones or bully sticks. He chewed corners of walls and bottoms of chairs when he couldn't find his teething toy. When he wags his tail, he puts his whole butt into it, his entire rear end going side to side so that he can hardly walk :D. Louie is brown and white. He is 1 and a half
Both dogs are Schnoodles, Schnauzer-Poodle Mixes. Honey has more schnauzer and Louie more poodle.
I'll include some puppy pictures and some grown up ones.
The one of two dogs on the grass is Louie chasing after his best friend and cousin, who's name is Brooklyn.

I love your dogs. The picture with your son is precious. I also have a dog who owns our home. When we had to put her sister down all 3 of us were just lost. Both girls would be 14, and they only live 12 on average. Love and enjoy every minute with those adorable dogs.

I'm sorry you had to put your dog down, I can barely imagine how it must feel.:(

Also, the picture with my son isn't my son. It's me! I'm 15 -_- :p My dad snuck up on me to take the picture

That makes it even better! you look so perfect with your dogs. i am glad you have a couple chams also. I love mine to bits.

All of them are just to cute. I rescue golden retrievers. All to well know that bond between human and dogs. I lost my best friend in 2010 (which was a dog) and still have a very hard time with it. I had 7 dogs and now I have only 4. Just lost one last Feb. to skin cancer. And yes dogs can get it.

Love your pictures! Here are pictures of my schnauzer named Biscuit. She is wearing onion goggles in the 1st picture. :) She is VERY snuggly, and LOVES to swim and play in the snow.

Then you have to big of boots and not on tight enough. We have had lots of problems with boots until we started learning more about them. Mine has allergies and is showing in her feet and ears. You don't even want to know how large her feet are. Also don't worry about the boots being to small or to tight. Our boots are from Ruffwear.

Hahaha I LOVE the glasses. She looks like a hipster dog :)
Repdog, that's so cool that you rescue them. I wanted to rescue my dogs but everybody but me in my family is allergic, so we had to make sure it was hypo allergenic. How does a dog get skin cancer? How can you prevent it? So sorry to hear about your dogs. I understand how you mean by him being your best friend, my dogs a mine too :)

Thanks for the compliments ZLEW. :) She IS a hipster.

Thanks for the tips on the boots REPDOG. I need to do some research apparently.

Dogs will can get 3 different types of skin cancer. Two are from the sun just like us and normally happens with dogs in the white color coats or lighter coats. The third type is what my dog had and has nothing to do with the sun and UW Madison told us they are not sure how they get this type. They don't have a cure for this one but the other two they can normally get under control. We lost her within 4 months of her diagnose. That is even with going through chemo treatments.

By the way you can rescue any breed of dog. There are rescue groups for each breed and mix breed groups. Also your local shelter is rescuing as well. Puppies are harder at times to get but well worth the wait.

I have had over 60 dogs come through my home and most were rehomed with the exception of the 5 which us here in rescue call failed foster. Two dogs we had we got from a breeder. And the start of it all is from the very first dog we had. After we lost her I never trusted a vet again and did so much homework to find out as much as I could about what dogs can and can't get and how to diagnose it. One little thing that is not normal in their behavior I start looking at everything possible. I found a vet that was willing to listen to me and now we work together to find out if something is really wrong and what it would be. This is how I found one of my dogs to have cushing's disease. I also became a dog trainer with all those dogs coming and going. Really had to learn how to handle dog fights. Yes they do happen no matter what. ;)

Skin cancer sounds rough. I'll keep an eye out for it on on both of them. As for rescuing, my family needed to be 100% sure, and that that the dogs were doubly hypo-allergenic, (poodles and schnauzers are both hypo) because of how bad the allergies were. I was lucky to be getting a dog in the first place :p
