Hello, I am a first time chameleon owner. I have a male(Clyde)and a female(Bonnie) Veiled Chameleons.
I'm getting a little worried about my female. She has been wondering around the sides of her cage and the floor constantly, just going up and down all day and seeming like she wants out. Occasionally she will stop and relax under her basking light. She is still drinking water, and eating normally.
I took both Bonnie and Clyde to the vet for a wellness check up about 3 months ago, a month after I got them, and I was told they looked very healthy. I also recently brought them both back to the pet shop so I can show them to the person we got them from and he said mine were the healthiest and biggest ones anyone has brought back to show him for the short amount of time I've had them.
Bonnie's Info:
Female Veiled Chameleon about 6 months old I believe. She has been in my care for about 4 months now. I rarely handle her now, I used to be able to hold her about twice a week, but now she has become very aggressive, tries to bite me and hisses at me if I do get to hold her.
I feed her 10-15 calcium covered crickets everyday(Noon)(Repashy Supercal MeD). For gut-loading the crickets, I use Repashy Superload and Fluker's Cricket Quencher Calcium Fortified. I keep crickets in a Lee's Large Cricket Keeper(it comes in handy, ha-ha)
I use a Big Dripper(Gallon) as the watering system, it drips about 2 drops a second and I put 10mL of AquaSafe per gallon. I don't mist because I have a fogger at the top of the cage for her that I leave on for about a hour twice a day. And I do see her drink.
She has white urate. Her fecal matter is brown and a little slimmy looking when it comes out and than drys up. No she has not been tested for parasites yet.
To me Bonnie looks healthy, she's a big girl, she's just acting strange.

For them both I have 2 Zoo Med Reptibreeze X-Large 48" x24" x24" aluminum screen cage. Each their own home.
I have one Exo Terra 60w basking bulb I bought from the pet store and 2 Zoo Med Reptisun UVB 10.0 bulbs, one up on top for the cage and one on the side shinning in.
In the basking area it is about 85-90°f, the center is about 72-77°f, and the bottom of the cage is around 68-72°f. At night around the basking area it gets to about 68-72°f, which she sleeps in the top corner of her cage, the middle gets to about 65°f, and the bottom gets to about 62°f.
For creating humidity I use an Exo Terra Mini Fogger. The humidity fluctuates between 55-70%. While foggers are off the humidity ranges from 55-62%. While foggers are on the humidity gets up to 70-72% at most and than I turn them off until the next run. A hour Twice daily.
I have 2 Zoo Med Economy Analog Dul Thermometer and Humidity Gage's, one at the top of the cage and one in the middle, bottom temperatures are estimates.
I have one live Pothos plant in a trash bin filled with dirt, only in her cage, because I read that maybe she could be gravid. Other than that I have plastic and paper-like plants and a vine.(all Zoo Med or Exo Terra brands)
The cages are located in my bed room on opposite sides of my bed so they aren't right next to one another, so medium traffic around them. The bottom of the cages start 3ft up from my room floor and the top of the cages are at 7ft high. There is a fan on my ceiling but it only goes on low, if I even turn it on.
I live in Southern California in the high desert area.
