My Final Chameleon

Hello everyone,

My chameleon's cage this morning around 9am when i woke up was the first thing i saw. I looked over and saw that one of their sticks they walk on had fell on its side. I also saw that one of my chameleon died. It was laying backwards on the wall with its claw caught on the mesh with its mouth wide open. We noticed that it wasn't moving. My other chameleon is acting the same as normal but a tired like but other than that its fine.

p.s Im very happy to be here

No um not really when i woke up and saw it there under it was some brown mass I'm really not sure what it was maybe its' insides?? I'm not sure. maybe the shock of it falling killed it i know it wasn't impaled or anything it looked very dried out.

It right now only has fake leaves and some logs on the bottom of its cage to walk around on and a bowl where the extra water from the dripper falls and sometimes it puts its tail in the water

I did bury it in a safe place i took out the stick where it might have fallen with
The cham might be sick in the first place, usually they dont just fall n kick the bucket,a simple falling should not kill them instantly , did u take any death pic or find any thing unusual on this dead cham?

And what is the gender on the other cham?
Usually at 5month old, each cham will need their own space(cage)...she probably was getting stress with the other cham if they were in the same cage or cages next to each other without any visual block.
Sorry for ur loss on that beautiful female n thanks for posting the pic.

P.S I also notice her broken tail?

The other chameleon was a girl and her tail had fallen off maybe two days ago the other cham a month ago had bitten it and was pulling the tail and i think they were fighting over space in the cage.

P.S they were sisters that i rescued from a friends house

Unfortunately, that is the real cause for her death,u can only place babies in the same cage but once they get older , they will have their own cage to live, just like us human, when we were young ,we stay with our brother or sister in the same room (bunk bed) but when we get older we prefer our own place.

P.S I hope u feel better,we all here live n learn.

I'm sorry for your loss.
