My new baby!

Just got her on Saturday!

She's a 3 month old veiled, settling in well and the new love of my life! She seems to have a pretty relaxed personality over all, with only a little bit of attitude! She finally showed off some colors a little bit today, so I snapped some pictures to show her off.

Awww, she's so tiny and adorable. It looks like she likes her tank though, since her dark spots disappeared once she was inside. Congrats on the new baby, I hope you two have a wonderful life together :D

Welcome to the Forum and what an adorable baby you have!!!! You will love the Forum. Everyone is always here to help and enjoy or Chams together. :)

Thank you! And yes, she loves her cage.

I was lucky enough to get the cage she was raised in along with her. I am confident that helped reduce her stress during the move to her new home. She was the smallest of her clutch apparently, but in the few days she has lived with me she has already grown a noticeable amount! I am so proud.

Today was the first day that she displayed any color change once I handled her. I had to take her out yesterday to clean up a bit and move some stuff and she was very calm (and very green) the whole time.

I take it to be a good sign that she got mad when I took her out today. I think it means that she has been less stressed over all today.

I love the site and I am so happy to finally have a reason to post! I've been lurking for a while as a guest. Finally joined once I had something to post about!

I look forward to lots more posts about her, my other chams and my future breeding project ;-)

O wow, you got her and her tank? You're really lucky then, it would greatly reduce the stress, not eliminate it, but reduce it... She's so adorable, I'm looking forwards to pics of her growing up!

I dont think shes 3 months old.
Shes very tiny, very cute, but looks too smal for 3 months. id say no more than 2, probably closer to 1 month,

She was the last one left of the clutch and so they had no reason to keep the set-up. I was concerned about getting a whole set-up within my budget and while expressing those concerns with the owners they offered the whole thing! It's an awesome awesome cage. And I got a great deal.

I felt like I won the lottery!

And then yesterday I got word that a co-worker of my boyfriend is going to be selling us another entire set-up for only $40! I'm on fire!

She was born about the first week of November, which means she is just over a week or so shy of 3 months. The breeder remarked on how small she was in comparison to the others. And I agree. I trust him that he was not lying about her age, especially since I overheard confirmation of the age of one of her brothers.

I'm still nervous because of her size, she is so so small! But she eats like a champ, keeps very active and has a super strong grip.

Well if you have a hatch date, then ok.
She could have just been the runt
she is so teeny tiny.. very very cute.

you know all about egg laying right?

Yeah, no doubt she is the runt! She is nearly microscopic!

And yes, I know about egg laying and how to recognize the signs that she is read etc. I've had many a reptile in the past and did my best to educate myself fully, or as best I could, before I got her.

Like I said, I've had many a reptile in my day, but nothing has stuck quite like chams have. I can't wait to expand my little zoo further and also watch this little girl grow up!

She is so tiny she can stick her tail through the mesh of her cage!

The smaller size (considering the age), casque shape, noticeable large white stripe on the flanks, longer tail and colour patterns actually remind me more of a Chamaeleo dilepis (Flapneck Chameleon) than a Chamaeleo calyptratus (Veiled Chameleon). I could be wrong but are you 100% sure on the species?
