My veiled chameleon is 4 months old and is usually rusty brown orange is this his adult colour?

My translucent chameleon shadow is 4 months old, 5.5 inches snout to vent and 74 grams (he’s huge), however for the past few weeks he has been browned rusty orange with brighter orange veins and turquoise spots mainly on his belly he also has more turquoise and lots of yellow barring when fired up. Is this his adult coloration or will he become a different colour, why is he coloured like this and how do I prevent it? Thanks. Any replies are appreciated. Pics below. Also if you could post pics and measurements of four month old veiled below that would be great.

It would be a good idea to fill out the ask for help form so we can make sure that his husbandry is correct so we can weed out there’s nothing there keeping him brown.

• Your Chameleon - The species, sex, and age of your chameleon. How long has it been in your care?
• Handling - How often do you handle your chameleon?
• Feeding - What are you feeding your cham? What amount? What is the schedule? How are you gut-loading your feeders?
• Supplements - What brand and type of calcium and vitamin products are you dusting your feeders with and what is the schedule?
• Watering - What kind of watering technique do you use? How often and how long to you mist? Do you see your chameleon drinking?
• Fecal Description - Briefly note colors and consistency from recent droppings. Has this chameleon ever been tested for parasites?

Cage Info:

• Cage Type - Describe your cage my cage is birch with a glass screen and is 3.5 feet tall and 2x2 feet
• Lighting - 10 percent linear uvb
• Temperature - What temp range have you created (cage floor to basking spot)? Basking spot is 35 degrees celcuis and bottom of cage is about 28 degrees
• Humidity - Humidity is 50 percent measured using a hydrometer
• Plants - Are you using live plants? No live plants
• Placement - Where is your cage located? It is in a sort of corner with a window above it not near any air vents
• Location - England good sir, Northampton

4-6 months old they will tend to go through a "muddy" color stage. After a few sheds you'll start seeing the adult coloration coming through.

I'm curious if this cham is going to be a high orange rather than the usual greens, yellows, and blues.

I don’t think so I lve in the uk so I doubt it but I bought him from a very highly rated petstore not too far from me it’s Called Northampton reptile centre but I haven’t seen his parents ‍

It's possible. Could be a random mutation in the genes that control the scale colors or a recessive Gene that both parents had and he got lucky.

He is still young so his colors may change still. Only time will tell but he's still a good looking cham!
